This is an ideal place to stay if you enjoy both sightseeing in towns and villages, swimming and relaxing on the beaches at nearby lakes, and quiet countryside walks. It's also an ideal base if you are house hunting in the area. La Bo Bo is a beautifully renovated stone cottage which sleeps four people in one double bedroom, and one twin bedroom. We offer changeovers, so if you plan to stay 2 or more weeks we will make sure the cottage is cleaned with fresh bedding. You'll be able to enjoy sitting out on the raised patio in the evening, watching the sun setting with a couple of glasses of wine.

La Bo Bo is situated in the rural countryside of La Creuse,with nearby villages of St.Leonard de Noblat a beautiful medieval village, with it's criss cross of alleyways in the old town, you can enjoy the shops & a meal, and Bourganeuf with is town square, shops and markets. There are nearby lakes with beaches at Bujaleuf and Lac de Vassivière with it's water activities, and island in the middle of the lake with the Contemporary Art Centre. Nearby is the Parc d'Arbre en Arbre, tree walking! an aerial rope course challenge set in the tall pine trees- you can move from tree to tree - safely! Aubusson- the place of the famous tapestries, have a Breton crepe at La Maison Creperie. There are golf courses, the nearest at Bourganeuf, managed lakes and rivers to fish in. For the children- Parc Animalier des Monts de Gueret, observe real-life wolves living outside in the park, plus horse riding centres. Limoges, the capitol is a mixture of old and modern chic shops. Notes: La Creuse is one of the most uncrowded parts of the whole country, and because of the lack of light pollution at night time you can see clearly the stars in the sky. The house faces fantastic panoramic views, walk up the path behind the house to get to the top where the views are even better. We have a set of garden table & chairs, 2 sun loungers which you can set up on the raised patio, where you can sit and relax while watching the sun setting. How to get there: If you are travelling from the UK by air there are quick & easy cheap flights with Ryanair from London Stanstead, London Luton, Liverpool, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Bristol and Bournemouth to Limoges & Flybe from Southampton and Newcastle, and offer connecting flights from Manchester, Belfast City, Edinburgh, Glasgow Int., Guernsey and Jersey to Limoges. Flight are approx. 1 hour 10-20 minutes and La Bo Bo is approximately 55 minutes drive from the airport. You can also get there by Eurotunnel then drive down to La Creuse, the drive can be approx. 7-8 hours e.g. Callais to the house. Or by ferry, which you can check out by going to 'Direct Ferries' web site. By train with Eurostar from local UK staions via London, Ebbsfleet International or Ashford to Paris, then from Paris to Limoges station. .

Places to Eat: There are numerous places to eat - St Leonard de Noblat has a good restaurant called 'Le Gay Lussac' & 'Relais St-Jacques', at Sauviat-sur-Vige which is 10 minutes drive away there is 'Auberge de la Poste'. At Cheissoux 'Auberge de la Fontaine', the couple who run this are French and speak English. 'La Creperie' at Ahun, and many many places in Limoges, a good Moroccan resturant is La Tajine near the covered market.

Things to Do: We have a specific page on the region and things to do on our web site, with phototgraphs. There are activities for the children and lot's of historial places of interest, plus we have local beaches with lakes which, even in the hight of the summer season, are never busy!

We had a fabulous time at La Bo Bo. The village is beautiful, set in wooded valleys with fantastic views from the terrace above the house. We sat out every evening watching the sunset and listening to the wildlife with a glass of wine or two. the house is really comfy and well equipped; it felt like home straight away. There was lashings of hot water and even Cbeebies on TV for our 4 year old. We found fresh raspberries, wild strawberries and cherries growing nearby and there's even drinkable spring water bubbling from the hillside nearby. Bourganeuf is a pretty market town 15 mins away with a Carrefour for food supplies. The region is beautiful and the deserted winding wooded roads just go on and on in every direction. A clean green landscape unspoilt by mass tourism and crowds. We loved it and will be back!

Quiet and relaxing - that is life at La Bo Bo! The house is well-equipped and comfortable. The setting is lovely. The views are just superb, and all that fresh air...

Idyllic Retreat

Our holiday at La Bobo was idyllic. It was easily accessible from Limoges airport, with a car hire. The house was well equipped and decorated to a high standard and set in a small, typically French village in the heart of France. We loved the shuttered windows.The property was well maintained and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen and TV in the lounge. The bedrooms were set in the attic of the house and were very comfortable. Our holiday provided us with the perfect retreat from city life and was peaceful, with stunning scenery - lush greenness all around. We enjoyed many walks through this picturesque landscape and visits to nearby towns. Lake Vassiviere has a beached area and is the perfect spot for sunbathing or swimming. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend this place to anyone wanting an idyllic retreat.

Das Haus ist liebevoll eingerichtet und entspricht den beschriebenen Tatsachen. Die Buchung ist sehr einfach und der Kontakt mit den Vermieter ist sehr freundlich. Das Haus hat eine sehr schöne und abgelegene Lage und ist ideal zum entspannen. Am Tag fahren vielleicht zwei Autos vorbei, sodass gerade der Urlaub mit Kindern gefahrlos und entspannt ablaufen kann. Die Region bietet sehr gute Ausflugsziele und die regionale Küche bietet solide Kost zu günstigen Preisen.
