Photos and Description of this Cotignac holiday villa Detached modern furnished luxury house

This superb brand new property is situated in an idyllic location among the vineyards, within walking distance of a beautiful village. The house is built in the traditional style of a Provençal bastide using top quality local materials. It has an exceptionally large L-shaped swimming pool which overlooks the vines. The pool is fitted with a safety alarm and has wide steps for easy access into the water. The garden, 500m², is mostly a grassy area, with a very attractive south facing terrace by the house. The terrace is partly covered and has a barbecue and garden furniture for outdoor dining. There are also loungers for relaxing by the pool, and there is parking within the property. The interior is immaculate and the house is well equipped and comfortably furnished in tasteful contemporary style.

Hidden gem in a great little village

We stayed for three weeks in at end of May 2009. The villa turned out to be a hidden gem in a great little village. The Saracen towers in direct view of the garden makes you wonder if some crusader knights will pass by. The romantic medieval village of cotignac with its lovely square and local market reinforces this feeling. I drove my pushbike daily through the mountainside and made some great trail runs circling the village through beautiful wooded hillsides. The views and photo opportunities in the area are spectacular. We recommend a trip to the Lac St Croix and the nearby waterfall in Sillans-la-Cascade. The villa and great pool offered everything we wished for.

My friend and I stayed for a week in Late January 2008.
Our main reason for the visit to the area was to take landscape photography of the Provence countryside. But was amazed at how beautiful Cotignac was itself. The cliffs are lit up at night and are a great backdrop for lunches outside in the quite village square.
The villa's pictures do not do it justice as it was very large and very well equipped. I would recommend this villa to anyone. This was an ideal base to explore the area and we did manage to get a few great photographs. Thanks to Andrew & Sophie for a memorable stay.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Great house and great location !

We stayed for the middle 2 weeks of September 08 and we had a wonderful holiday. The house is very special and it's obvious a great deal of thought and care has been put in to it by Andrew and Sophie. The pool is wonderful and even in September we were able to use it. The house is located above the lovely village of Cotignac and it's a either a short walk downhill or an even shorter car ride to get there. Cotignac itself is great, full of character with all the amenities you could need. Also, it is ideally located to visit the other areas of Provence from the coast to the mountains. Overall, top marks from us !

We loved it!!!

We stayed at the villa for 3 weeks in July 08 and didn't want to leave. The property is well equipped and comfortable throughout. Great days in the pool or sightseeing and evenings on the terrace with a few bottles of local wine, heaven!!
Would definitely return to Cotignac and to this villa.
