A recently renovated Cortijo, Las Rosas with 3 casitas in the midst of tranquil olive groves. Las Rosas is very close to a huge lake which provides spectacular views for drivers, walkers and cyclists. The property is a 1.25 hour drive from both Malaga and Granada.

This is a large, airy beamed casita. Casita Perdiz (meaning Little Partridge House) has a large open plan living area.The seating area is furnished with Moorish style sofas. There is a log burner for cool winter evenings and satellite television. There are two large windows, one looking out down the valley and the other from the kitchen area onto the courtyard. French doors lead out onto a private courtyard, whilst an open staircase leads to one of the bedrooms. The second bedroom is downstairs off the courtyard where there is also an outside porche for eating and barbecueing

Nearest Airport: Malaga/Granada at 100 Kilometres
Car: necessary
Ideally situated, it can be reached with a journey of about 1-1/2 hours from Malaga and a little less from Granada Airport. It is also located on the crossroads between all the major cities in Andalucia, allowing for day trips to Granada, Seville, Cordoba and Malaga as well as the towns and beaches of the Costa del Sol. Set up in the mountains some 8 km from the town of Iznajar, Cortijo Las Rosas is located close to the largest lake in Anadalucia. This provides us with an inland beach right on the edge of the Subbetica, which is a national park dotted with those beautiful ‘white villages’.

We stayed in Casita Perdiz - possiblt the best as it was closest to the pool. We also liked the split of the bedrooms (one upstairs and one off the courtyard) as it gace privacy. The accommodation is a high standard and very comforatble. Marylynne and Gillian were both welcoming and helpful, without being intrusive. The driveway down was a bit daunting but worth the effort!

The Cortijo Las rosas is a wonderful hideaway. We had 3 nights there during a 13 night stay in Andalucia and found it to be remote and relaxing. The owners are lovely and very accomodating. Plenty of pool toys for messing about in the water, binoculars for bird watching and even a telescope to lay and view the stars (with no light polution they are amazing) as well as a decent supply of books and board games if you just want to lay around and not do much. Sky TV (if that's your thing) and a well equipped kitchen,bar b q and private outdoor dining area (casita perdiz). We will return ! Within driving distance of Cordoba, Ronda and Jerez all are well worth a visit. A wonderful hideaway !
