We enjoyed our week long stay with great weather for October. Particularly enjoyed the compact balcony seating area and narrow veranda that went the full length of the apartment - ideal to watch the world go by.
On arrival at Nice airport we followed the signs for the bus to Nice Ville station. Bus 99 with about 2 stops takes about 20 minutes to Nice station and the apartment is approx a 5 minute walk slightly downhill. Cost 4 Euros per person compared with 30 euros + for a taxi.
Cafe's, restaurants and grocery shops on the doorstep although best value for groceries up by the station. The restaurants on our street towards the coast were v good and the take away pizza shop almost next door was a favourite with our 8 year old.
Nice old town is probably a mile away through the town but it is a really entertaining walk with lots of shops, cafe's, squares, fountains and street art along the way. The return along the front didn't seem as long.
The tram line runs from just beyond the station down to the old town and costs 1 euro a trip or less for a multi journey ticket.
We went by train to Monte Carlo, Antibes and did the mountain trip to Tende and Sospal, all were easy to reach and inexpensive and well worth the trip. The station in Nice can be busy but the ticket machines are easy to operate with a round central control for changing ticket options and credit/debit card payment options.
All in all a great week and we would recommend the apartment to anyone.
