The 5 Star VILLA MINOS is offered at the same level of service and comfort as the expensive 5 star hotels near by. There is a Meet and Greet service any time day or night, together with a mid week clean, change of all towels and sheets, a starter food pack is also available. An hour by car from Heraklion airport, a modern recently built villa in the most sought after location, set in an elevated position but close to the beach, with views over the Bay of Elounda and the surrounding Cretan mountains. Built on two levels, the ground floor has been designed with a well equipped modern kitchen, an open plan living/dining area with comfortable seating, and a satellite TV with English & multi language channels, there are two quality double sofa beds enabling the villa to accommodate up to six people. The upper floor has 2 bedrooms (one double and one twin), both air-conditioned,with patio doors leading out onto sea-view balconies. Each has its own luxury bathroom with a Hydro power shower

Set in its own quiet grounds with a 400 metre walk to a choice of Tavernas, supermarket and the blue flag beaches and sea. Whilst on your doorstep are the two best known resorts on Crete. Agios Nikolaos, a lively harbour town with an excellent variety of sophisticated shops and waterside cafes, together with Elounda - a 10 minute walk away along the front,- a pretty fishing village and harbour, boasting some of the world's most famous five star hotels, alongside romantic waterside tavernas and restaurants. Beyond Elounda is the unspolt fishing village and beaches of Plaka, from where you can take a boat trip to the famous fortress island of Spinalonga, once inhabited by the Venetians in the 15th century and later used as a leper colony up to 1957. For Golfers there is a championship course about 40 minutes away at Hersonissos

Additional information about rental rates

  • Payment is preferred in sterling as above, but can be made in Euro at the exchange rate current at the time of full payment being received, providing this has been specifically agreed in advance.
    Written confirmation with the applicable 20% deposit of the total accommodation cost is required to secure the booking, once received a receipt will be sent. Full payment is due 6 weeks prior to the start of the rental period, for less than 6 weeks, the total amount is required at time of booking. Cheques are acceptable although Bankers Drafts or Bank Transfers are preferable for speed of confirmation. The villa will be cleaned twice a week and the bedding and towelling will also be changed twice a week. Smoking is not allowed inside the villa.
  • A meet and greet service at Elounda is provided, to show you to the villa and demonstrate all the facilities within it. This is included in the rental price between the hours of 08.00-20.00hrs local time. Between 20.00-24.00hrs local time - a surcharge of £30.00 is payable. Between 00.00-08.00hrs local time a surcharge of £50.00 is payable. Please advise the owner of your arrival times, so that it can be added to the final payment.

Notes: Peaceful yet set on the outskirts of the quiet traditional village of Mavrikiano the villa has its own car parking area protected by electric gates. So whatever pace of life you enjoy there's plenty to see and do; the archaeological sites of Lato and Knossos, the traditional handicraft village of Kritsa, the14th century Byzantine church of Panagia Kera, the region's meandering walking paths, boat trips, Blue Flag - (Water Safe) - beaches and water sports and of course sampling the local cuisine. Maybe visit the abundance of waterside and harbour cafes in Agios or Elounda to while away a few hours by watching the world go by. Or maybe watch DVDs on the 300 channel LCD satellite television which gives you programmes in every European language. Alternatively just bring a good book and enjoy the quiet and the views when you go out through the patio doors into the garden which has outside terraces and grassed sun-bed areas surrounding your own swimming pool which looks out over the Bay.

Amazing Villa!

I have just returned form a glorious holiday in Crete where my family and I stayed at Villa Minos! It was a beautiful spacious Villa in a perfect location. The views over the bay are incredible and the people who live around the Villa are warm and friendly and made us very welcome! There is a bit of a climb up from the main road but to be honest with all the gorgeous Crete food you eat a little walk at the end of an evening does you good! There is a little restaurant on the way down into Elounda on the hill which does amazing food at incredibly reasonable prices so if you go you must try it, 4 or 5 appetizers alone would feed a family for a week! Also the Taverna Leonidas does the best Souvlaki and if you have children they treat them like royalty! The Villa location itself was quiet and serene and ideal for a relaxing get away, the town offers a variety of shops, restaurants, snack bars and bars to cater for everyone's taste. Book now for a great holiday ideal for family stays, a week with friends or a romantic honeymoon. Elounda has everything you need and even if you want more Agios is just down the road for 10 euros in a taxi! We hired a car for the week but hardly used it as everything is on the door step! And definitley get the welcome pack to start your stay as it was lovely arriving to all the basics and some wine to start your relaxing get away for a small price!

great villa, lovely location

The villa offers a great view of elounda and the bay. Booking was a simple process and everything went smoothly. The owners kept in contact before the holiday and replied promptly to emails. During the stay we were looked after very well by blue bay property services run by Paul and Lenny. They arranged a taxi for us at the airport, which was waiting at the airport and they will also arrange car hire. Their local representative Jennie was very helpful. The villa itself was as described, with a nice pool cleaned mondays and thursdays, set in a very pretty village, there are other villas on either side but you are still private. It is about a 15/20 minute walk into the the centre of elounda. Although it is uphill back for the last bit. We found Elounda itself not too busy with lots of different tavernas even though it was high season. Overall I would recommend the villa to families and couples, car hire is not essential unless you want view the island.

We enjoyed our stay at Villa Minos very much The villa is extremely well equiped with everything you need. The beds are very comfortable - everything seems to be brand new. The villa was spotless and it certainly has the wow factor - the spectacular views from its' elevated position are stunning especially when watching the sun come up or blazing a red trail in the evening.The villa is especially romantic at night with the pool lights glowing in the garden and the harbour lights and those of the town twinkling in the distance.The small taverna on the way to the villa is excellent - there are many places to eat to suit all budgets and there are grocery stores and other small shops to delve into.The tranquility and blue waters of the fishing harbour really portray Cretan charm. We enjoyed snorkling in the bay - a week was certainly not long enough! You can catch a boat from nearby Plaka to visit Spinalonga or take a twenty minute drive to Agios. The owner is very helpful and charming - we would love to go again! It is a wonderful place to have a memorable holiday.

Beautiful view

We booked Villa Minos for our honeymoon and had a fantastic time, after a few emails with the owners we transferred the money and the property manager was in touch with us nearly immediately. They gave us detailed directions and texted us when our flight landed so that we could meet and be shown to the villa. I selected a few additional extras with them such as a welcome pack, champagne and flowers and to my delight everything was there, champagne cold and rose petals on the bed. The property managers were a Dutch couple that live in Crete and they explained everything to us within 5 minutes of arrival at the villa and arrange a time with us for the cleaners to come and to change the sheets and towels mid stay.

Inside the villa it was fully equipped with everything that was needed right through to a washing machine which was a nice touch to be able to return home with clean clothes.

The villa was brand new, I think we were the first paying guests, it is in a gated development of only 4 villas up a hill with views into the bay and Elounda, the hill seems quite steep when walking back at night which was good exercise but taxis are available and the ride from Elounda is only 3 or 4 euros. The 4 villas are quite close to each other but each one had its own parking space, enough privacy and beautiful views of the bay and port.

Elounda is pretty much a typical Greek beach resort although much quieter than Agios Nicolas, Elounda still has all the usual touristy beach activities however and the beach was never too crowded which was lovely, being honest though we only made it to the beach once as the tranquillity of being at the villa by the pool and simply looking at the beach was enough. In terms of restaurants there is a complete mix, from international and British owned restaurants serving the Full English to typical Greek cuisine, if you walk through the centre and round to the left along the sea front, there are some lovely typical Greek restaurants, and if you go even further (walking along the road that goes round the bay) try the one on the right that is always busy.

I would recommend this villa to most people; we had a really relaxing time and could happily have stayed at the villa for another week or two.
