Based in Calafat on a quite beach side urbanisation our 4 bedroom chalet style linked bungalow is all on one level & completely refurbished. Sleeps 6. South facing small garden area, attracts the sun all day. Just 150 metres from the sea and walking distance to beaches, restaurants x 3 & local supermarket. Open-plan Lounge / Kitchen / Diner. 2 x two seater sofas, dining table & 4 chairs. (extra table outside with 6 chairs) TV with Sky TV includes BBC/ITV/C4/C5/Sky3 etc with all UK Radio Programs. The bungalow is ideally situated being just 150 metres from the coastal edge with the nearest snorkelling beach of Cala 'Lo Llobeta' being just 500 metres away overlooked by the restaurant 'Cala Llobeta' that has its own swimming pool. The next sandy beach is 'Cala Calafato' that is approx 800metres along the coastal edge from the bungalow. Between the property in Calafat and the village of L'Ametlla De Mar there are 18 various types of 'Blue Flag' beaches suitable for all tastes.

For the Golfers there are 3 Golf courses within a 25 mins Radius of the villa, 2 just outside of L’Hospitalet and 1 on the outskirts of Reus. The nearest village of L'Ametlla de Mar 7km away, also has a varied amount of supermarkets, many good quality restaurants both Economy and Al La Carte. As the village is primarily a fishing port, at 5pm the fishing boats return and you can buy your fresh fish straight from the boats or just sit in one of the many port side bars/restaurants and watch as the unload their catches. The Universal Studios theme Park of Port Aventura and Costa Carabi Water Park is just 25 mins by car , together with the Holiday resort of Salou. The National Park of the Delta Ebro is 25 mins, excellent for animal lovers and bird watching. With the River Ebro, famous for some of the largest catfish in Europe. The city of Barcelona 1½ hours and Valencia 2½ hours.

At present RYAN AIR has the most flights available, however Monarch / First Choice also fly in to this airport. When looking for flights look for 'Barcelona Reus'. Travel time to the property from this airport is 25 to 30 minutes. Flights also into Barcelona airport with BMI baby and Easy Jet. Travel time to property 1hr 30min. Car hire available from all these airports and can be booked direct online (please, do not hesitate to ask for further information).

Girona Airport :: Alternatively RYANAIR also flies into Barcelona / GIRONA Airport from several other European locations, which is a drive of 2hr 30min from the property.

lovely place but badly needed air con and fly scre

this is a very nince villa but fell down in our estamation as there was no air con and the lack of fly screens and the many trees around villa ment we were infested mossies.
the area was a nice safe and quite place .
would highly reccomend if air con and screens were added
Owner's Response: In responce to this review, considering all of our previous reviews are high our advert quite clearly states that air con is not a feature. (although we do supply a fan)
I have to say that having resided in Spain for the past 12 years and close to this property, we do not use air con and have never found any problem with insects, excepting that this is a Mediterranean country and as such during the hottest months of the year this can be expected in any country in the Med area. Our previous guests over the past several years have never had a problem. Thankyou.

Quiet days in Calafat

This is a good place far from the tourist enclaves. There is a cozy beach in a quiet bay, a restaurant with delicious local food, the high shore with pine trees, clean and sunny rooms in apartment. In the sea meets quite a lot of professional divers.

Our fabulous family holiday

We stayed at this villa in August 2008 and it was great. We have two small children (3 and 6) and it was perfect for them. The villa was clean, modern, and very well maintained. It's wonderfully quiet and peaceful at night. You can walk to safe beaches, both sandy and shingle (watch out for the occassional sting ray - they seem to move up and down the coast, but they are no big problem) and then there are lots more within very close driving distance. Take away pizzas in the square with play equipment and trampolines for the children while you have a cold beer!! The local restaurant with swimming pool is also a real bonus and more or less on your door step.

The villa is private and with its walled garden no need to worry about the kids wandering off.

All in all a great time was had by all of us.

Excellent villa and great value too

We stayed here in August 2008 and were really impressed with the villa as it was really good value for money.
We arrived and were greated there and shown around and were also left a bottle of wine and some grocerys to save shopping on the first day.
The villa is finished to a good standard and was very clean.
Could benifit with some aircon but we did go in the hottest week of the year.
The area is very nice too with a great restaurant about a minutes walk away with 2 nice pools and great food (very nice on an evening).
Great beaches too.

Sehr gepflegter Bungalow.

Wir verbrachten unseren Familienurlaub, 2 Erwachsene und 4 Teenager, vom 11.7 - 25.7.2009 in diesem sehr gepflegten Bungalow. Das Reihenhäuschen ist hell und sehr sauber. Uns hat es an nichts gefehlt. Die Anlage ist selbst in der Hauptsaison sehr ruhig. Eine Badebucht mit feinem Sand ist etwa 7. Gehminuten entfernt. 5 Autominuten entfernt ist ein grösserer Strandabschnitt mit höheren Wellen. Verschiedene Gaststätten und Resaurants befinden sich in der Anlage und sind zu Fuss in wenigen Minuten zu erreichen, ebenso der Supermarkt. Die Vermieter sind super nett und sehr hilfsbereit. Die Vermieter sind Engländer und sprechen kein Deutsch. Ein Auto ist empfehlenswert, da die Wohnanlage etwas ausserhalb liegt. Es gab in der Umgebung viel zu sehen: Tarragona, Barcelona, Tortosa. Unsere Teenager waren von einem 30 km entfernten Vergnügungspark angetan, der "Port Aventura". Der Flughafen Reuss ist etwa in 25 Autominuten zu erreichen.
