Podere dei Venti is a farmhouse, built in 1947 and fully modernised with a private swimming pool in 2003. It sits in a romantic setting of grassland and olive trees in the middle of a 12 acre plot, facing south-west, with views across a valley of rolling hills, vineyards and olive trees. Accessed by an unmade road which also serves six other houses, the nearest neighbour is about 200 yards distant. The house and its immediate gardens are tranquil, with shady areas throughout the day. The swimming pool is very private and sheltered, fully equiped for 8 people with sunloungers, a pool house with fridge, and a large shaded area. The pool is fenced to prevent accidental access. The farmhouse has a massive south-west facing covered terrace equiped with chairs and a dining table for 8. Inside there is a large lounge/dining area and a modern kitchen. All 4 bedrooms are double, each with its own en-suite bathroom, with a pumped water system providing powerful showers. Outside BBQ area.

Podere dei Venti is a secluded farmhouse in the Maremma area of Southern Tuscany, modernised in 2003, with a private swimming pool. It is10 minutes drive from the coast with beautiful sandy beaches. Nearby is a 9 hole golf course, and the Maremma National Park with walking, guided walks, birdwatching. Local sightseeing opportunities include the medieval hilltop villages of Montiano, Magliano and Pitigliano, while Porto Santo Stefano and Porto Ercole have busy harbours and access to miles of sandy beach. Many local vineyards offer conducted tours with wine-tasting and buying opportunities. There is a wide variety of good local restaurants. Nearby in Talamone (featured in 'Quantum of Solace') is a windsurfing school, kitesurfing, scuba diving and boat trips including diving and snorkelling on the underwater reef of the nautical Parco National dell’Arcipelago Toscana. Additional information about rental rates

  • Each renter receives a Welcome Pack with olive oil, wine and sufficient foodstuffs for a simple first meal. The rental rates include central heating in the winter months as required. The swimming pool is open from mid-May until mid-September and the rental includes a regular pool clean and a weekly professional pool check-up and clean. We provide bed linen, blankets and towels for all bedrooms and also towels for the swimming pool. We ask guests to bring their own towels for the beach. All linen and towels are changed weekly and there is cleaning by arrangement on Saturdays for those renting for more than 1 week. We charge a security deposit of £400 per rental which is refunded by us in the UK immediately after checkout.

  • Each numbered bathroom is ensuite to the same numbered bedroom. All bathrooms were fitted with new modern fittings in 2003. The water is a pumped system with on-demand hot water so that all showers give an excellent water flow. The villa is connected to the main water supply and water is safe to drink. All bathrooms are provided with large mirrors over the handbasin, shaver points and an electric heated towel rail

Notes: Podere dei Venti sits in the middle of 12 acres of grassland and olive trees. Its garden is tranquil, with shade throughout the day, is not overlooked and very private. There are ample chairs and sun loungers for 8 adults. In the garden there is a BBQ, an elderly, but working, pizza oven and a boule court with boules supplied and night-time lighting. Inside, a large lounge/dining room leads into a modern fully equiped kitchen, plus a laundry room, study and toilet. From the lounge/dining room, three glassed doors lead onto a large covered terrace which occupies the south-west side of the house with a great view. For entertainment there is Sky Italia on the TV and a Bose Sound dock to play your iPod. Also WiFi internet access. The private swimming pool (approx 11 x 6 metres) has an automatic water filtration system and is fenced to prevent accidental access. Beside the pool is a pool house with changing room, a summer kitchen and a cold water shower. Regular pool cleaning included

What an amazing place! The description of the villa does not do it justice. The setting is stunning and dining out every night on the veranda was just lovely. The villa itself was very spacious, beautifully furnished, and very clean. The pool was great and a good size, and again very well maintained. I would absolutely recommend this villa! You must go!

Wonderful Tuscany

We spent in the Villa two weeks in July. Excellent house, full equipped, nice swimming pool and surroundings. Very good for people who want to relax with their friends. Calm, quiet place with beautiful view and sunsets. Shop, beach, restaurants and sightseeing - 10-200 (or more) km by car.

Relaxing in Tuscany

What a wonderful find! We had a relaxing family holiday here in May and it was a great place to stay with small children.

The location was great for exploring this part of Tuscany with fishing ports, beaches and mountain villages all within easy driving distance. There were a number of great restaurants nearby which were happy with children, there was a playground at Fontablanda and we even found a fun-park at Orbetello. There are supermarkets nearby too where you can get nappies etc but (from bitter experience) baby milk powder is very expensive!

The villa had two high chairs and two travel cots and and the bedrooms were big enough to accommodate the cots comfortably. The views from the terrace were stunning and the pool and the boule court both got their fair share of use.

Overall we had a wonderful holiday and this was a great place to relax with little ones.

Paradise found.

This was the perfect holiday home for us to share for 3 weeks with our best friends and our twenty something daughters and their best friends.Seperate bathrooms,lots of outside space and a dishwasher made for a stress free, and harmonious stay. The location is really fabulous, peaceful and calm, rural Italian farming life and hunting goes on around, this means a car is really essential. Some highlights for us were -warm and friendly locals, flood lit boules playing, till 4am for some some! (In October ,not bad!) wi fi,lots of great novels and music. Super local restaurants and wine tasting on Wednesday evenings at La Selva and their organic sister produce shop a real bonus. The natural wild beach at Marina di Alberese was without equal and the wow factor of seeing the Etruscan hill town of Pitligiano unforgettable. Podere dei Venti is a gem, furnished to a high standard, even fly screens and shower gels, which make you feel you are living in the owners very comfortable home. We found it very hard to leave, but left restored and refreshed to face the gloomy UK climate.

Podere dei Venti is a very well equipped house and ideal for a large family party. It is situated in an idyllic rural position although only approximately 15 minutes from an unspoilt coastal area with delightful towns and harbours. The local walled hill villages are very attractive with some good unpretentious restaurants. The pool area is a must for the sun lovers and there are plenty of shady areas around the house from which to enjoy the lovely views with a glass of good local wine. The caretaker is nearby and provides an unobtrusive efficient service.
A great position for exploring southern Tuscany.
