Your Summer holiday rental in a tranquil country and romantic place, where you can watch birds, deers and wild boars. The cottage, completely independent and self-catering, has been recently rebuilt with energy saving criteria. We are located one hour driving from city of art: Siena, Florence, San Gimignano, Volterra, Monteriggioni, San Galgano, the Etruscan Sites of Populonia and the Tyrrhenian seaside. An ideal location to recharge ones energy away from the strain of daily life. Unforgettable walks with romantic view can be arranged in the Natural State Reserve of Cornocchia, just a few minutes walk from the house.

Il Casino is a cottage 300 m. from the typical village of Belforte, which was originally built around the year 1000 as a fortified castle on the top of a hill. Here you can find a bar, a restaurant, a post office opened 3 days per week and a little shop. It is an ideal place for a relaxing holiday and near the main towns of art and culture of Florence, Siena, Volterra, San Gimignano, Massa Marittima, not to mention the wonderful central Tuscany seaside, all within 1 hours drive. Only 7 km away you can visit the medieval village of Radicondoli, where you can find bars, groceries, the butcher, the chemist, a bank, a post office, a doctor, a hairdresser, the tourist office and an Internet point. Furthermore some typical little restaurants invite you to taste their home-made Tuscan recipes and, of course, the wonderful Italian pizza.

  • The rates above are for a maximum of 4 guests. In case of additional guests using the sofa bed in the living room, a charge of 25 euros each/per week is requested.
    All rates include electricity and water cost as well as weekly change of linen and towels.
    In winter firewood for the stove is free of charge, while gas heating when used will be charged (gas meter reading). Please contact us for details. Payments scheme: at reservation a 30% non refundable deposit by bank transfer. The 70% final payment at check in. At check-in a caution deposit in cash of €100,00 (£80,00) is required.

Very nice but in the middle of nowhere....

Despite having rain for 4 out of the 7 days we were there, we all had a good time on this holiday. The cottage itself is new, very clean and has every conceivable amenity. We particularly enjoyed getting the wood-burning stove going which saved on central heating costs. MariaPia and Mario were the perfect hosts. They were very kind and helpful and both spoke (almost) perfect English. You will either love or hate the location because it is truly isolated being 20km down winding roads to get anywhere, including the nearest supermarket. Nevertheless we managed to visit Siena, San Gimignano, Monteriggioni and the Chianti region without too much difficulty. We loved them all but San Gimignano was by far our favourite.. There is a network of unpaved gravel roads all around (and to) the property so those who enjoy walking and watching for wildlife will benefit most from the isolation. However, none of the roads is flat! Because of the rain we weren't able to take full advantage of this. We weren't too impressed by the restaurant in the closest village but it was the only one we tried. If you want to get away from it all and, like us, you don't find much charm in some old converted barn, then we highly recommend it.

Gone Sightseeing

We spent a long week-end here in May. It is just as you'd expect - no nasty surprises although it is not easy to find! The house is brand new and has everything you need and the owners are really helpful. They recommended a typical 'trattoria' where we had really good food (and a more than acceptable bill) and a place where you can get wonderful home-made cheeses. Although it is 'in the middle of nowhere' it is within easy reach (by car) of all the major sightseeing places but there are also lots of minor historical towns and villages - we even took a beautiful country road all the way to the sea. We didn't relax much but if that's what you want the area is full of beautiful country walks. Perhaps we can try that next time because we will certainly go back one day. Relax in tuscany

If you want a quiet getaway in Tuscany this is the place. Awake to a beautiful unobstructed view from the master bedroom & breakfast on the terrace - pure magic. The property is on the hillside, but there are no steps from the parking area into the property so elderly or infirm should not have a problem. The property was in excellent order and spotlessly clean. The owners speak good English, and are very helpful. If you have children beware of the steep slopes in the garden.
There is a small bar/restuarnt in the village, 30 mins walk or 2 mins drive, but the owners will direct you to an alternate restaurant about 10 mins drive away which is worth a visit. Florence, Siena and many other lovely Tuscan towns are easy driving distances away.
I'll be returning - that's for sure.
