Friendly comfortable cosy cottage near beautiful Whitby.

This superb, well appointed cottage is located in the village of Ruswarp, which is on the River Esk and a mile outside Whitby. Ruswarp offers a cafe, mini golf, boating, a village pub, miniature steam railway and village shops which give everything for day-to-day needs. Getting into Whitby without taking a car, can be either on foot over the fields (30min), by train at Ruswarp station three times a day, or by bus twice every hour. Parking is available on site. The cottage was newly built in 2002, and provides a sitting room, kitchen/dining room, a downstairs toilet. On the first floor there are two bedrooms, one double and one twin, with a large bathroom. On the 2nd floor there is a large luxurious bedroom with a glorious French antique bed. A patio seating area is outside the cottage for those summer evenings.

Ruswarp is a mile outside Whitby on the North Yorkshire coast. Scarborough is 25 miles away to the south, and the beautiful coast stretches up to the north, from Robins Hood Bay to Sandsend (only 5 mins drive away), leading to Runswick Bay and Staithes. We are ideally placed for all the lovely walks and villages in the North Yorkshire Moors, with the village of Goathland being the TV set for Heartbeat. The Great Yorkshire forest at Dalby is only 20 mins drive away, offering fantastic mountain bike trails and an aerial rope course not for the faint hearted. If it is shopping you want, York is 50 miles to the south, with all the attractions of the Minster, the National Railway Museum and the Jorvik Viking Museum. However it is Whitby which is the main attraction, with award winning fish and chips, fantastic beach and harbour, as well as the quaint streets and shops which will keep you coming back year after year.
