Comfortable farmhouse on the edge of the Lake District National Park
Bells Farm is a recently modernised traditional farmhouse offering comfortable self catering holiday accommodation suitable for two families or up to eight people (a downstairs bedroom with shower and toilet ensuite would suit an elderly relative). It is situated in Berrier, a small farming community on the edge of the Lake District National Park, one of the most attractive holiday areas in Britain, famous for hill walking, mountain biking and enjoying the peaceful lakes. There's a wide variety of extra attractions within easy reach: the Roman Wall, museums, country houses and gardens, art galleries with coffee shops, steamboats on the lakes, horse riding etc. The nearby town of Keswick has an excellent repertory theatre and Keswick and Penrith (each only 8 miles away) offer leisure facilities, swimming pools, tennis courts, cinemas and extensive shopping. Many of the nearby village pubs serve excellent food. The garden is fully fenced to prevent visiting dogs escaping.

For those who enjoy walking, Bells Farm is ideally suited as a base to set off up Blencathra, Skiddaw, Helvelyn or many smaller fells. Mountain bikers will find a variety of challenging and more straight forward routes. There is excellent birdwatching in the area and up on the Solway coast. For those with a more adventurous spirit, a newly opened 'Going Ape' adventure centre in the trees is close by. A slightly longer drive will take those interested in the history of Britain to the Roman Wall.
