Luxury three bedroom apartment in a beautifully restored olive mill, situated on a hillside and surrounded by 10 acres of olive groves and woodland. This stunning apartment has a mixture of terracotta and wooden floors, with traditional Tuscan beamed ceilings. The interior combines original features with tasteful furnishings. On the first floor, the fully equipped kitchen with marble work surfaces leads to a very spacious living and dining room, providing relaxed living and a warm ambiance. Large windows offer spectacular views over the olive groves and valley below. An open wooden staircase provides access to the bedrooms on the second floor which have the same views. Double en-suite bedroom with hydro-massage bath, twin room en-suite with shower, double room and shower room. There are several terraces for dining andr relaxation, taking full advantage of the views. Woodland walks to local villages (2k and 6k) on trails from our door

Just returned from a week in the Maurino apartment with my teenaged kids. What a great place! Spotlessly clean, stylish and comfortable with a fantastic view from almost every window,

The apartment contained everything you could possibly need for a comfortable holiday whether you are eating in or out. The pictures on the website really do not do the accommodation or the views justice

The custodians of the property have taken great care to provide detailed information on local restaurants (the research must have been absolute hell for them!) and thanks to their information we never had a bad meal or felt we paid too much.

One thing to bear in mind about this property is that it is a 5-10 minute drive to the nearest restaurants part of which is down the steep private track. This is something which didn't bother us (I just enjoyed a nice glass of something when we returned to the absolute peace of the property). We felt the slightly remote location was a real benefit in terms of the peace and the views - no pain no gain!!

The location of the property we also found to be ideal - a really non touristy part of Tuscany with prices and quality to match. We only heard another English voice when we went to Lucca and Florence, we speak no Italian and found the locals to be helpful and friendly.

If you need to cool down there is an olympic size pool at Bientina about 10 minutes away complete with very high diving platforms! If you arrive after 4pm the charge is only 5euro (11 euro for the full day) including sun loungers. (a pool is planned at the property next year).

The property would be ideal for a few families getting away together but still having independence.

Don't hesitate - just book it!!

What a find!

Just returned from a 10 day stay at Il Frantoio. Clean, modern, very comfortable, well equiped, good welcome pack, plenty of clean towels, bedding.
Good seating outside on various terraces, always able to find shade when needed.
George and Linda, couple who look after house live away from main house. They are perfect 'minders' of the property. They are discreet but available when needed, very familiar with the area, our only poor meal was at a restaurant not recommended by them.
Very peaceful, quiet location, we hired a car so we were able to explore the countryside and cities but we were always glad to get back to the Mill.
George and Linda have compiled a book of places to see, places to eat etc. which we found very helpful.
We had a wonderful holiday with our 3 teenage sons and we would all be happy to return sometime in the future and we would love to bring friends with us.
