About Vilamoura golf courses:
The Old Course include pro shops, restaurant and bars, driving range, putting and chipping greens, lessons and golf clinic. The par 72 Pinhal Course opened in 1976. The front nine drives wind through umbrella pines while the back nine are more open with sea views. Not quite as severe as the Old Course. Laguna Course is set amongst dunes and water hazards which come into play on more than half the holes, so there is much trouble off the tee for a missed shot. Accuracy is needed here. The millennium Course opened in 2000 and is a most interesting layout. The setting within the surrounding countryside is truly astounding. It was designed by Arnold Palmer occupying 90 hectares and with a total distance of 6,560 metres. Every care has been taken to preserve the existing wetland and the carob, olive and almond trees.
