Peyia:
Peyia is a very charming village , very popular with visitors for its winding roads and traditional stone built houses . The village sits on a gently elevated hillside overlooking Coral Bay and has a lovely traditional village centre based around a very pretty church, village square and a good selection of shops, banks and tavernas. For the self catering holiday it offers a choice of two good supermarkets, a fantastic bakery, fishmongers, butchery and delicatessen. It also has a pharmacy, doctor, dentist and banks. The local tavernas invite visitors to try the Cypriot fish or meat meze and there are restaurants such as Chloes that offers themed menu evenings with. Indian, Mexican, Chinese and traditional Sunday lunch which are popular with both local residents and visitors.
Coral Bay:
Coral Bay is famous for its sandy beaches and rugged coast line, the beach is gently sloping and popular with families. Coral Bay offers visitors a good selection of international cuisine restaurants, banks and gift shops and a go karting race track. also has a number of large hotels which have day spa facilities open to non residents .
Akamas Peninsular:
The Akamas national park is a 155sq km conservation area of hills and rocky shores which is popular with walkers and ramblers. It has an impressive diversity of flora and fauna unique to the Mediterranean. Lara Bay is an important turtle breeding site and is home to two endangered turtle species, namely, green turtle and hawks-bill turtle. Loggerhead turtles also lay their eggs in the golden sands.
Ski:
Cyprus is well known for its warm climate, historical sites and sandy beaches but visitors may not realise that it also has the Troodos mountains which offer excellent mountain biking and climbing terrain in the summer and skiing in the winter. The Troodos mountains are just 40 minutes from Paphos.
Golf:
The Paphos area is home to two very well known Golf Courses - Aphrodite's Hills and Secret Valley. Both are very popular with holiday visitors and host a number of high profile competitions during the year.
