Bonmont and Surrounding area:
Bonmont is the ideal place for a holiday for golfers and non-golfers alike. One of the finest golf courses in Spain, the course is beautiful to walk round, challenging to play and the clubhouse ideal for relaxation afterwards. A ten minute drive will take you to long sandy beaches and coves stretching along the coastline from Cambrils to L'Hospitalet del l'infant and beyond. Enjoy local seafood at the harbour restaurants in Cambrils. Tarragona has a Roman Amphitheatre and is a treat for the historically minded. Port Aventura, Catalonia's famous theme park, is full of adventurous rides for those who like a bit of excitement. For nature lovers, Delta Ebro is a treat, with its rice paddy fields, exotic butterflies and birds. Drive down to the start of the river and you can go fishing, out on a boat, or just sit in a restaurant watching the river. If the weather is hot, the mountains beckon and local vineyards abound where you can sample the local wine.
Live entertainment:
In July and August, Bonmont holds a music festival to suit all tastes. Famous in Catalonia, it offers something for everyone - classical to jazz to modern. There are fiestas held throughout Catalonia all through the year, with firecrackers and 'giants' and mardi gras processions. Local restaurants provide a set lunch for around 10 euros, usually 3 courses, bread and wine. Barcelona is within easy reach either by car or train, which takes 1 1/2 hours and costs approximately 15 euros return. Barcelona is famous for its Sagrada Familia, designed by Gaudi, whose architecture can also be seen in Passeig de Gracia in the centre of the city. No trip to Barcelona would be complete without a visit to the Ramblas, with its street theatre and stalls selling birds and flowers.
Golf information:
Bonmont is a top class championship golf course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. Acknowledged to be one of the best in Spain, it is enjoyed by beginners and more experienced players alike. Facilities include practice area, club and buggy hire and golf school. The clubhouse has a first class restaurant for that special occasion,
or you can have a drink or lunch on the terrace with panoramic views over the golf course towards the Med . A 5 minute walk takes you from our house to the clubhouse. There is also a gym, sauna and steam room. Activities offered include yoga, tai chi, pilates and a personal trainer.
On Wednesdays, Bonmont golfers of all nationalities hold a competition for residents and holidaymakers. Just put your name down at the clubhouse the night before.
Golf:
The Bonmont golf course is one of the best in spain. This superb course is located in a beautiful setting between the mountains and the golden beaches of the Costa Dorada. The back tees provide a stiff test for the best amatuer and professional golfers while the variety of forward tees mean that the 'average' golfer can enjoy this demanding course.
