Discovering the 18-hole golf course, Domaine de Falgos which is an experience in itself. The views of the mountains from that altitude are, quite simply, stunning. On the border of Spain, the 5177m2 course is set within some of the best natural obstacles, the mountains, which will surely test your golfing abilities. Villages around St. Laurent de Cerdans:
The villages of Coustouge, Prats-de-Mollo, Arles-sur-Tech, Amélie-les-Bains and Céret are all between a 5- and 30-minute drive away from St. Laurent de Cerdans. They offer a variety of historical, art and cultural areas to explore.
The area has many Roman influences among the many fortresses, churches and abbeys. Also nearby are modern art museums and local markets, such as the famous weekly Saturday market in Céret, which sells everything from locally produced foods, such as honey, oil and juice to a variety of arts and crafts.
Gorges de la Fou, on the way to Arles-sur-Tech, is renowned as being the narrowest canyon in the world. It is a natural crevasse where you can experience the beauty of stalagmites and stalactites.
Many local festivals also take place throughout the year in the villages.
Beaches:
The coasts of France and Spain offer a choice of over 200km of golden sands. The journey times to the beaches are between 50 minutes and 2 hours, depending on which ones appeal.
On the French side, Argelès sur Mer, Canet, St. Cyprien and St. Marie le Barcarès are the most popular choices of beach.
On the Spanish side, the Costa Brava offers beaches such as Roses, Lloret de Mar, Empuriabrava and many more. Heading to the Spanish beaches is an excellent opportunity to explore the many villages, cafés and restaurants along the way, and also a good excuse to sample the local Sangria!
