This elegant apartment is at the second floor of an old 'palazzo' in the central of Lucca close to VIA FILLUNGO (Fillungo's street). The ancient cardo maximus of the Roman city is today a lively street with elegant traditional shops, medieval towers (of which the oldest and most interesting is the Tower of Hours, which can be visited), and noblemen’s palaces.

The apartment is in the centre of the medieval city of Lucca, near the main street 'via Fillungo' where you can find many shops. Lucca hosts the Lucca Summer Festival each year which, in July 2006, saw the likes of Eric Clapton, Roger Waters, Tracy Chapman and Santana play live in the Piazza Napolean On the third weekend of each month Lucca hosts a huge antique market centred on Piazza San Giusto. VERSILIA COAST with it's a sandy beaches, elegant shops and wonderful nightlife, is only 15 min far by highway. The Casa di Puccini is open to the public. At nearby Torre del Lago there is a Puccini opera festival every year in July/August. Puccini had a house there. .

beautiful apartment at an excellent rate!

I stayed here with my friend about a week ago, and the apartment far exceeded my expectations - the photos do not do it justice! It's spacious (there were only two of us, but 4 people could stay there quite comfortably) and beautiful and has everything you need to make you feel at home (a few other reviews mentioned a lack of toilet paper and they have since fixed this - there was plenty there when we arrived). Paolo and his wife Silvia were very gracious hosts and happily provided us with maps and restaurant recommendations for the area. It was a little hard for us to find in the dark (Lucca itself is a beautiful city, but a labyrinth), so I highly recommend taking a taxi from the train station - it's not a long trip, but it will save you some frustration.

this was a beautiful apartment - clean, attractive and perfectly situated in the centre of Lucca. I would recommend it without hesitation. The owner was helpful. The only negative comment we have is that toilet paper was not provided - difficult to find in an Italian town on a sunday! So take your own!

Lovely apartment, in a perfect, central location

The location of this apartment couldn't have been better, just off the main street, down a lovely side street. Paolo and Sylvia were so friendly and helpful, and even left a few restaurant suggestions to help us to decide where to eat. The apartment itself was very clean and spacious, with tiled floors, meaning it was very cool inside, despite the heatwave outside!
We wouldn't hesitate to return, and would recommend this apartment to anyone! Thank you Paolo and Sylvia!

Great Apartment

My Wife and six year old son and I stayed in this apartment for 4 days in January 2009. Paolo was very easy to work with via email to make the rental arrangements. The apartment is very large, very clean, and has a fantastic kitchen and bathrooms.

A plus is that it is on the first floor (2nd for Americans) so not too many steps. The front bedroom faces the narrow street that does have some noise every now and then in the evening and deliveries and street sweeping begin early in the morning. It is in a great location 50 meters from the city's main pedestrian street Via Filungo.

This was my wife's and my twelfth trip to Italy but our first time in Lucca. A fabulous little place with very charming streets and a fantastic walk path around the town walls. Very easy to get to by train.

All in all a great value and we would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed in this charming, typically Italian apartment in the historical centre of Lucca. It was ideally placed right in the centre of shops, restaurant and cafe's and close to the beautiful city walls. The apartment had just been refurbished so the facilties were all new and well maintained. The train station is nearby for easy access to Pisa and the Coast both of which I would recommend to visit. We were met on arrival by the owners who were very welcoming and helpful. We would certainly use it again and recommend it to others.
