Located in Ballinskelligs on the picturesque ring of Kerry this is a modern 4bed cottage located in a small 5 house development. It comes equipped with a fitted kitchen ,spacious living area & 4 bedrooms (1 ensuite).Over a footbridge from the back garden ocupants have access to a quiet lane leading to the famous blue flag beach only 200m away. Baile na Sceilge (Ballinskelligs) is located on the magnificent Skellig Ring between Waterville & Valentia Island. Wild rugged coastlines, scattered islands, vast mountains & high passes, this Gaeltacht (Gaelic speaking) region will leave you longing to come back for more. Across the bay & only 12km by road stands the town of Waterville which hosts a wide variety of hotels, pubs & restaurants including the world famous golf course that is a favourite of Tiger Woods! Cahirciveen (a larger town) is only 15min drive away with much to also offer. 20min by car across the mts. you will find a panoramic view of Portmagee and Valentia Island.

In more recent times the skelligs’ have been home to some of Irelands lighthouse keepers prior to automation. The area is renowned for its golden beaches and turquoise water.It is an ideal location for sports lovers offering world-class water sports from sea angling to windsurfing.It is also the departure point for boat trips to the Skelligs and for diving trips. Horse riding is also available.For the cycling enthusiast Ballinskelligs has a wealth of new and breathtaking experiences around every corner, none better than the road bringing you back to Bolus head.This route will bring you past the Cill Rialaig Famine Village, Cill Rialaig Artist’s Retreat, and the early Christian ruins.

Stayed at the end of August 09 for all too short a time. We took both this house and the one next door because we were an extended family. Great base, spotless, well equiped and spacious. Patio with barbeque and small protected garden for children make the place very special. Outside hot/cold shower made it so easy when you came back from the beach! Fantastic beach 200 yards from back garden. House and beach are ideal for families, including young chldren and elderly guests (one double bedroom is on the ground floor).
Stunning views and great wind-surfing bay at the adjoining St Finans bay, which is only 4 miles drive (where there is also a wonderful chocolate factory where you get to free sample the products). Responsiveness of the owners was immediate and thorough. No hesitation in recommending this property - we would definitely go again. If someone could only guarantee the weather, this place would be impossible to get a booking for!

Better than Home from Home!

This was a brilliant house to stay in. We all had a great time. It was a short walk to the beach - short enough to go down without too much on and then run back and have an outside shower!
The house was very well maintained and extremely well equipped. Provision of the cleaning materials made you more likely to use them! This is how self catering should be with all the things you have at home. Having a dishwasher means clearing up is easy - you don't want any work when you're on holiday. The jucuzzi was a great way to relax when you're on holiday.
It was a drive to the nearest town(5 miles). You need a car. There was a watersports school on the beach but the weather wasn't conducive so we didn't find out any info about this.
The owner was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this house to everyone. It was lovely and clean and comfortable. Better than 'Home from home' !
