There is a pool in the Alhambra inspired patio at the rear of the house. Perfect as a base to visit Seville, Cadiz, the beaches of Costa de la Luz, and inland countryside.

Flamenco

Jerez prides itself as the cradle of flamenco. Apart from the world famous festival in February every year, there are classes at all levels for students of dance, guitar and of singing throughout the year. The apartment is in one of the traditional flamenco neighbourhoods and there are many local bars and clubs which welcome anyone interested in the art.

Horses

There are a couple of very good horse shows in Jerez - one at the Real Escuela de Arte Ecuestre - that is the Royal Equestrian School - where the spanish Olympic medal winning dressage team trains, and the other at the Yeguada de la Cartuja - where the pure bred spanish horses have been bred for 500 years. In May there is the annual ´Horse fair´ where horses and carriages parade amidst the spanish ladies in their flouncy spotty dresses. There is an international best of breed show run simultaneously with this popular local fiesta. In June you can see the wagon train of mule drawn carts and costumed riders of the Rocio leaving on their pilgrimage to the Doñana national park. In September there is a parade of 500 horses through the centre of town. The participants are the local riding schools, the horse breeders, and the many local stables as horses are really a local passion, as well as mounted bands, military and police. Local stables offer rides on the beach.
