Spanish Paradise

I, my wife, and our 18 year old daughter have just come back to Canada after spending 2 wonderful weeks in Vejer de la Frontera in Andalucia, Spain.
We decided to go self catering this vacation, and found a house we liked the description, photos and location of, in Vejer.
When we arrived, we were tired, after a long flight from Canada, via Germany, to Madrid and then on to Jerez.
Coming to a beautiful well cared for home, in a nice nighbourhood of a beautiful quiet town like Vejer was just what we wanted.
We found a fresh, well appointed, very clean and tidy house, with all the amenities for a delightful 2 week base camp for our vacation.
We used Vejer as a jumping off point for trips to nearby beaches in Canos de los mecas, Zahara de los Atunes, El Palmar etc. We also toured as far as Grazalema, Ronda, Sevilla and Tarifa. We even took a day trip to Tangier in Morocco.
Vejer was an excellent base camp and our house was outstanding a comfortable and relaxing place to see all of this from.
Vejer itself is a charming and very interesting little hill town, one of "Los Pueblos Blancos" or white hill towns, modelled after the Moorish style of Andalucia. There were interesting and exciting discoveries around every corner and some of the finest Spanis food and bars in every Calle.
We had a rented car from Jerez airport, and we were very pleased with how all our arrangements came together very well. We had a few very useful and informative long distance phone conversations with the owner of our house prior to our arrival and this helped set our local knowledge and expectations very well.
The house included all the necessary amenities for civilised living, and we availed of all of them including the Patio on the flat roof from where, over a glass or two of Rioja, we were able to enjoy the Spanish evening breezes. The view from the roof was very charming too.
The house is part of a small complex that includes access to a communal pool and we used this from time to time and got to know some of the neighbours, some of whom are expatriate British folks, and some of whom are local Spanish. The pool is very new and very modern with a small separate splash pool for toddlers. The ambiance was very family friendly.
If I had the opportunity, I would gladly return to Vejer (as there are more places we have not yet seen) and would be pleased to stay in this house again.
I would reccomend Spain, Andalucia, Vejer, and the La Noria house to anyone, unreservedly.
