Snowsure skiing in winter:
The chalet sits at 2700 ft (800m) and is in the middle of the Paradiski domain, one of the largest in the world (formed by the joining of the Les Arcs and La Plagne domains). The resort offers over 420km of snowsure skiing, benefiting from 2 glaciers over 3000m high. You can either use your own car, our mini bus service or take the local shuttle bus to the resorts (10 mins to the lifts in Montchavin-Les Coches, La Plagne; the same to the Arc 1600 funicular in Bourg St Maurice; or 15 mins to lifts in Peisey-Vallandry, Les Arcs).
Great walking & mountain biking in summer:
The chalet is in beautiful Alpine walking and cycling country. It's just off the GR5 long distance path, at the start of the Vanoise National Park, and the Tour de France passes through nearby Bourg St Maurice (finishing town for stage 16 of the 2009 Tour de France). There are lots of local walks nearby, with footpaths leading off through the woods at the back of the farmhouse. We can provide maps and walking notes for our favourite walks.
There are excellent mountain biking trails close at hand (indeed, the Bike Village, a well-regarded mountain biking holiday company, is based just across the village from our farmhouse). We're in a great spot for touring cyclists looking for a base for climbs. The Col de Petit Saint Bernard is only a few kilometres past the chalet and we are just off the Route des Grandes Alpes too - but located in the valley so you don't have another hard climb at the end of your day.
