The houses are part of a 12 acre lightly wooded hillside known as Seaview Grazings. The Living area has large picture windows and is furnished to a high standard to be cozy and contemporary, it has been refurbished this past winter. Mingulay has 3 bedrooms and sleeps 5. There is a satelite TV a DVD player and a selection of DVD's. Mingulay can offer guests free wifi internet access in its living area. The kitchen is well equipped for your stay and guests receive a complimentary welcome pack of groceries. The bathroom has a white suite, heated towel rail and a shower over bath. The perfect spot

Having discovered knowledge of this wonderful area from a friend I was reccomended to look for log cabins over looking the loch, and with a a little investigation found Mingulay a three bedroom house set on a beautiful hillside.

Upon arrival we were met by the owner Carol and shown to the house, the impact of the view as you come round to the front of hte house simply took my breath away. Carol showed us round and gave us lots of local information to set us on our way, a very warm welcome.

The house had a perfect living area, the new sofa's where perfect for relaxing on and with the (what can only be described as) spectacular panoramic view of Loch Sunart it has to be seen to be believed. The overall standard of the living area is very high and I could not have wanted for any more.

The kitchen was very well equipped and it was added bonus to find milk, bread, bacon and some bits and pieces waiting for us, a nice touch for weary travelers. The kitchen has a new washing machine which was convienient, no tumble dryer but Carol gave us access to one on-site. The Kitchen is a little dated but only really because it doesn't happen to be beech with brushed steel handles, all in all everything we needed and very clean.

What surprised us most of all is the size of the house, the bedrooms and bathroom are all leading of a hallway accessed form the lounge, the bedrooms provided ample storage and had attractive bedding and curtains, they were all a good size and provided a comfortable nights sleep.

The bathroom was clean and functional, it was good to have a shower over the bath for when we did not want a long soak.

Overall the house was more than I had hoped for and has to the cleanest house I have stayed in over many years. Oh and that view just makes it.

Staying at Mingulay gave us a fabulous base to tour this area. We managed Ardnamurachan point, Mull, Inverness, Loch Ness and Oban during our stay. All were in easy reach for a day trip and well worth a visit. The village of Strontian is only a 5 minute walk from the house, here you find, a post office, cafe, shop, library ,in fact everything you will need for a holiday perfect.

There is a good range of food in and around the village I would reccomend Ben View and Cozy Knits for good food, there is also a pub style hotel bar just along the round which was perfect for an evening pint and a stroll along the shore home.

I would heartliy reccomend Mingulay I know we will be back

It was a pleasure to have Linda and her family with me here in strontian, it is good to see they enjoyed there stay so much and saw what the area had to offer, I am glad they found the house comfortable and clean, I am going through a series of refurbishment and hope to fit a new new kitchen this winter ,and and glad to say I can now offer guests frree wifi access in the living area.

I hope to see Linda back again later this year and am looking forward to welcoming a German family this Saturday who booked through this site. I hope they find it as special as it is such a unique location
