Pechao holiday farmhouse: Pechao

Just back from Quinta Luzia (24th Oct-1st Nov) and we had a fabulous time - thank you!The farmhouse was perfect for our needs and also the size and adult/child split of our group. (2 adults, 2 x 14yr olds, one 12yr old and one 10yr old)
The kids were lost all day to us, busy in the pool or running round the garden - the space there is amazing and it was exactly what we were looking for. Discovering inflatables in the pool shed was a real bonus so the kids had all sorts of games all day in the lovely pool. The house and grounds are so big that I even managed to get some quiet time on my own and adopted the lower terrace as my own private space which not only was very peaceful, it was also a brilliant little sun trap. I read six books so it must have been quiet! We had fab weather - towards the end of the week it hit the high 20s - with only one day without sun. In fact, we only left the farmhouse to go to the beach once during the whole stay - everyone was just happier to be at home, by the pool or exploring.
It's really well equipped - even simple things like having that amazing fridge freezer complete with water and ice dispenser was a godsend for the kids, as were the plastic cups and plates which we insisted they use at all times whether indoor or out. There's all the crockery, cutlery, glassware and cooking equipment you could ever need to feed a party the maximum size the place sleeps, let alone just six of us.
We loved our evenings outside by the bbq which was a chance for John and I to have quiet time together while the kids watched TV. You have no idea how well having UK channels went down given we are in peak X Factor season! Likewise, being able to play our iPods through the stereo to the outside as well as indoors was a real treat. The bathrooms were superb - all of them - but of course having the dinner plate shower head in the en suite with lashings of pressure and hot water was a real luxury. My teenage girls had the lower bathroom with the wet room shower and the two youngest had the one off the lounge. Totally spoiled!
All in all, a fantastic success and we have all agreed it is an experience
we'd like to repeat, as soon as we can!

We stayed here from 12th-26th September 2009. We had the two adults with a toddler and a baby and the grandparents with us too. The upstairs is almost self contained so they had that bedroom with en-suite and we had the downstairs for us and the children. Everywhere was spotless when we arrived which is always a good sign and Richard greeted us within minutes of arrival. The pool was great, the outside grounds are lovely and the house is literally home from home. Equipped superbly. Eating here has to be done outside, you have 3 tables to choose from let alone the actual kitchen one! We loved the fact we could lock the gates therefore keeping children from escaping and keeping anyone out but we felt very safe the whole time. You must eat at the local restaurants, especially the one that is owned by the family who rent this accommodation. Brilliant welcome pack with full instructions of beaches, eateries, directions to the airport etc. Really family orientated location but you need a car. Would return anyday!!!

This was our fourth year at Quinta Luzia and yet again we have had a fabulous time.

It really is a lovely property , both inside and out, and always lives up to our expectations. Our small boys used to love just messing around in the pool and 4 years on as teenagers they still love messing in the pool ! This property really does suit all age groups.

Everything is spotless, well maintained and well equipped with every mod-con. It is not just decked out as a rental property but obviously treasured by its owners. I always think its a good sign when the owners and their families holiday there too.

You really will get a taste of rural Portugal in Pechao but should you feel the need to venture to the tourist spots, they are only a short drive.

We love just rambling through the cobbled streets of Olhao with its distintinctively un tourist atmosphere and ferry trips to both Armona and Ferol Islands are always on our agenda.

Freshly caught fish and a chilled glass of Vinho Verde !
Can't wait to go again ..........................................
