We have just returned from the most fantastic week staying at Chalet Tressud. The chalet more than exceeded our expectations and was so warm, welcoming and comfortable with a real home from home atmosphere. As promised on their website the fridge was fully stocked with all the essentials, the beds really comfortable and the fully ensuite bathrooms are beautiful. The kitchen is really well equipped with plenty of pots, pans, cutlery, scales etc and again as promised our bread was delivered promptly every morning. The tv room was a bonus with a very comprehensive DVD library which the kids (and adults!!) loved and the hot tub was sheer luxury after a days skiing, especially with robes, slippers and towels provided.
The flexi catering concept is brilliant. We opted for Package D and chose our meals from menus that Jo had emailed to us. The food was delicious and served at the time we had chosen or left in our fridge to reheat on our return from the slopes, along with the fire made up ready to light and a home made cake on the table.
We were a group of 7 initially with an 8th person joining us mid week. Again this was no problem and even when the taxi had difficulty finding the chalet that night (it was snowing very heavily) Jo's husband Peter went off in search and duly returned with our friend. I would add however, that we had no problem finding the chalet and the sat nav co-ordinates provided on their website took us straight to the door and accurately estimated the journey time and toll costs from Calais.
We didn't use the ski bus as we drove down to the village each morning and as advised by Jo managed to park for free right next to the ski school meeting point every day. Our 6 and 13 year old children had lessons with ESF and as it was fairly quiet that week the group sizes were small and both progressed far more than we could have wished for which was great.
We have been skiing for over 15 years and this was without doubt the best chalet we have stayed in and Les Gets itself is a gem.
A huge thank you from all of us to Jo, Peter, George and Marmite for all your help and hard work into making our holiday so enjoyable. We will be back!!!
