Photos and Description of this County Mayo holiday cottage Cottages ideal for family's or groups alike in search or fantastic scenery

The cottages are award winning, traditional in setting, with all modern conveniences each with there own individual view of the bay ,but within easy walking distance of all amenities the village has to offer, pubs, shops, restaurants etc. The cottages are laid out in three bedrooms, a double and twin on ground floor and larger family room with 3/4 beds upstairs. The cottages are suitable for families or groups alike. They have a traditional stone floor living room cum dining area with open fire, there is TV,DVD players .The cottages are also gas centrally heated.The Kitchen is well equipped with all necessary cooking utensils, including gas or electric cookers and microwave. There is a family bathroom on ground floor and the larger units have en-suite facilities upstairs. All have washing machines and driers and all bed linen is on beds, towels can be supplied if requested as well as baby equipment, cots, highchairs,sterilisers etc. There is a gas barbeque available for alfresco dining

These four properties are smaller and more compact than the type A, they have a ground floor with two bedrooms a double and twin, the bathroom is also on ground floor. There is a galley style Kitchen equipped with all kitchen utensils including electric cooker, microwave,washing machine and drier. The living cum dining room overlooks the bay. It has a traditional stone floor and open hearth fire, for cosy evenings enjoying the ambience.Upstairs the third bedroom has three single beds with wash hand basin and dormer window overlooking the sea.

The Cottages are ideally situated on the bay of Killala in North West Mayo,and ideal touring base to the west and north.It is a fisherman's paradise with course,sea angling ,river fishing on the famous river Moy and lakes.The local pier offers freezing and smoking services to bring home your catch.also smoked fish can be purchased as gifts .It is ideal for most water sports scuba diving ,surfing,canoeing,and swimming.The beaches are blue flag and many often undiscovered.there are fantastic walks from the cottages, with historical sites to be found on the way.There is horseriding in nearby ballina,which would have larger supermarkets and great boutiques to browse,only 10 minutes drive.There are many pubs in Killala itself offering great food,music and crack,there is also supermarkets and a country market is starting on Sundays, offering organic and farm fresh produce.For the creative Killala is an ideal location to get lost in your writings or paintings with courses on offer at request

Golf listings: There are many world class courses within 40 minutes drive from the cottages, Enniscrone is an 18 hole championship course just across the bay, Cairn in Belmullet is ranked among the worlds top class courses which is 50 minutes from the cottages. Also there are a number or smaller courses which are ideal for practise days, Ballina has an excellent 18 hole course and there are many more.

Great Time in Killala

The property was as described: Clean, well lit, abundant linen, and a roaring fire upon arrival.

Liz was a warm and gracious host and taught 2 Yanks how to start a peat fire. The accommodations were spacious (there were only 2 of us, but the cabin easily could have accommodated 6) and we were right next to Killala Bay. The town of Killala has a couple of very good pubs and restaurants within a few blocks of the cottage.

Liz and Tony also provided lots of information about local attractions, including the seaweed baths, which we'll definitely try out when we return!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, People with Disabilities, Romantic Getaway
