Alanya area holiday villa: Kargicak

We had the most fantastic time at this beautiful villa - Mary was wonderful before we went providing us with all the information we needed for our holiday and some helpful tips for a wonderful stay. The villa itself was stunning, all you need for a holiday home and more, our 2 girls aged 10 and 12 enjoyed the pool every day and apart from our last day had the pool entirely to ourselves. Kemal was very helpful and appeared like Mr Ben's shop keeper whenever we needed him!
We enjoyed a stroll in the afternoon down to the local beach and it became a habit to have a feshly made flat bread from the lady with the stall at the bottom of th road - would highly recomend they were wonderful. The beach was fine with sun beds and umbreallas which were a welcome respite from the sun - although for a real sandy beach would recomend Cleopatras beach in Alanya
We took a couple of trips on the dolmus to Alanya which was an experience! but for 8 lira excellent value. Would recomend a drive to Gazipasa there are some beautiful beaches and fish restaurants.
Our favourite restaurant in Mahmutlar was The Blue Parrot, good food and reasonably priced the waiters were very friendly and the entertainment certainly kept us entertained. The free pick up and drop off was also a bonus! If you fancy a quiet night then Deniz just down the road also served wonderful food.
If you are after a relaxing holiday this is the one for you.

Our family had the most wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at this villa. Our party was myself ,my husband and three kids aged 13, 9 and 6 and we stayed for just over two weeks - Mary was really flexible and fit in with when we could get flights. The villa itself was fantastic and we all said wow as we arrived - so clean and everything we needed- kitchen well fitted out tv, dvd, cd player - lovely furnishings. It was spacious and was exactly how it was described on the internet site. Most of the time we had the pool to ourselves and the area was quiet but close enough to go to loads of bars, discos and restaurants where the kids could stay out with us till late. We loved Buzzy's and the Blue Parrot and we found a good new place called Pepe's which was along from Buzzy's and served the best food ( mexican mostly). All three of these did a free pick up and they drop you home as well. We also travelled into Alanya one night and went to the Malden restaurant. This had the most amazing view of the coast and we ate under the lit up fortress on the hillside. Superb. The wine here was very expensive so be careful what you order.
Nihat the taxi driver was wonderful-he took us to Dimcay twice which was a waterpark on the river where you could eat in little canopied rafts and he got us the best place both times with special treatment!
Kemal and Kemil looked after us really well and couldn't do enough for us- phoning taxis organising pick ups.
Kargicak is a pretty place to stay and the beach was lovely - but remember to wear your flip flops as the sand is so hot it burns your feet.
One thing to note is that you can not change travellers cheques in the bank or the post office but in and exchange office.
We enjoyed the fact that we could email Mary with our million and one questions and the night before we were due to fly out we could ring her and finalise everything - it took all the worry away of going into the unknown as she had booked the taxi pick up from the airport and it made it all so stress free. We will be recommending it to our friends and will definately be going back.

Nice one Mary! Stayed in this villa for 12 days and was sorry I was not staying Longer. Villa is close to beach, buses, town, markets,taxis ect. All New sun loungers and excellent outdoor equiptment. Villa was well furnished with all mod cons. Felt very secure here as staff there day and night. Good honest friendly people. Will be in contact with owner re renting for longer next time. Well worth checking this one out. Mary and Colin were very helpful and the fact that Mary speeks Turkish and knows the area well was reassuring. Once again thanks Guile Guile !!
