La Terrazza is below the pool level w/very private terrace and panoramic view. The most ancient place; was the original fortification used for defense. Original 9th century arrow slit windows and meter thick stone walls. Unique features: original glass ovens built by the Venetian glass masters in 1292 in the living and dining room. Two very spacious bedrooms and two baths ensuite, sleeps 4+2 on sofa. One bedroom is in base of the 9th century tower! King beds become twins. Original medieval spiral staircase up to the floor above; can be joined with il Forno Due to sleep additional 2+. Magnificent 9th century vaulted stone and ceilings and plaster walls of 'velatura' peach. Accents of green and peach. Gourmet kitchen has loads of utensils, cutlery, dining china and glassware. It has the coolest summer temperatures with thick walls. View from living room to terrace from French double glass doors. View primarily from large terrace with table/chairs, sun loungers, sun umbrella, BBQ.

Thanks, Colleen and Tom, for renovating this lovely building in the charming town of Piegaro. It had everything we were looking for - a pool, a beautiful setting in a lovely town (with groceries and restaurants), and lodgings that are luxurious by European standards.
Easily accessible from the Autostrada and within 1 to 1 1/2 hours from Orvieto, Siena and Florence, it made a great base for our exploring. I just wish we could have stayed longer, and wish the weather had been sunnier!
Owner's Response: We are so happy that Kay and her friend and family enjoyed staying in our apartment dating to the 9th Century! We have worked hard to offer every comfort to our guests. Sorry that we had a spot of rain in late May for part of their visit. We enjoyed meeting them and sharing a glass of wine while watching the beautiful sunset together! Colleen and Tom
