Photos and Description of this Loiret holiday cottage Independent cottage for 6 persons in 11ha of unspoiled private grounds.

What a location! Seventy minutes from the centre of Paris, one hour from airport Orly. Very close to the big Loire-valley châteaux (castles) like Chambord, Cheverny, Blois, Chartres etc. A little south of Orleans. A quiet self-catering holiday rental. The cottage can host each up to 6 persons. On the estate of 11 ha is also a chateau, woodlands and prairies, it is 400 meters away from the river Loire. The city-centre of Meung-sur-Loire, with its touristy château, shops, cafes and restaurants is at 3 km distance. The area of Loiret is well-known for its possibilities of cycling and walking tracks and the different golf courses.

Very authentic coach house build against the grange. It has a kitchen/dining room, a sitting room with satelite TV and DVD and bathroom with toilet on the ground floor. On the second floor, which was completely renovated in 2008 are 3 bedrooms. One with a large double bed, one with a single bed and one with 3 single beds. There is a bathroom with bad and shower and a seperate toilet. In front of the kitchen is a private space with table and chairs. The windows in the sitting room overlook the 'cours d'honneur' of the manor house.

The cottage is near Meung-sur-Loire which is a small town 15 km south of Orléans. Orleans is 100km south of the centre of Paris and 150 km from Disneyland Paris. Clos de Bel Air is near the famous castles of Chambord, Cheverny, Blois, Amboise and a little further Chenenceau. The area is called le Loiret and is south of ile de France.

Our holiday in Chateau de Bel Air

We had a wonderful holiday in the cottage at Chateau de Bel Air. It was a very peaceful and tranquil setting in the grounds of the cheateau. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and we had a fascinating trip round the fencing museum with many very amusing and interesting anecdotes from Rudi. We also had a great two hour fencing lesson .The cottage had all that you would need and is very well placed for visiting many of the beautiful Chateaux of the Loire.We particularly enjoyed our visit to Chambord and in complete contrast would highly recommend the Chateaux at Talcy and Meung. We ate in Meung and Beaugency and both were excellent and reasonably priced. We also had a great carriage ride around Blois. All in all, a lovely area to have a holiday. Deirdre and Frank

A Perfect Retreat

A truly wonderful family experience.
The housing is perfect with lots of privacy ,an impressive fencing
museum guided by the owner himself, full of stories that feed your imagination.
Very friendly owners who are multi-langual and know the surroundings very well.
If you want to fence (like we did) we can tell you that the owner is a genuine master in teaching(helped by his son), best lessons ever.
The town of Meung-sur -Loire is very nice and quiet and has some nice restaurants and a really nice market,if you like local food or Michelin restaurants,both are nearby.
All the great Loire castles are in the neighbourhood,kayakking
downstream this last natural river is also wonderful.
All in all, recommended for families,sightseers and fencers.
we repeated our stay and will be back again, that says it all.

Ferienwohnung ist mit Geschmack und Liebe zum Detail
ausgestattet - zweckmäßig und sauber. Die Eigentümer sind
liebenswürdige, dezente Gastgeber. Museum unbedingt besuchen.Wir haben uns in dieser Atmosphäre wohlgefühlt.
