The beautiful Dordogne river and the département to which she gives her name offer innumerable ways of spending a memorable holiday.
Take a leisurely trip on a traditional river boat (gabare), hire a canoe and paddle yourself, or simply stroll along one of the many riverside walks. Swim or fish in the river or one of the many small lakes of the region; hire a bicycle or a horse to explore the lovely countryside.
Visit historic sites, from prehistoric through mediaeval times: the cave paintings of Lascaux, the spectacular pilgrimage site of Rocamadour or the great fortress of Beynac. Enjoy the pavement cafes and markets of the picturesque villages and ancient towns which abound in the area.
Sample the wines of Bergerac and Bordeaux: our village lies within the appellation of Bergerac and you will see direction signs to chateaux, domains and co-operatives at almost every road junction. St. Émilion and the other famous vineyards of Bordeaux lie to the west and are easily accessible.
