A spacious apartment in a quiet village location next to the famous town of Millstatt. It is a one bedroom, 1st floor apartment with excellent facilities. The apartment sleeps 4 in comfort, with a double bedroom and a sofa bed in the lounge which can be used as a double or two singles. New shower & toilet, kitchen with ceramic hob, fridge,freezer, grill, kettle & toaster with integrated microwave. The apartment has a 36' Wide-screen TV, DVD player and CD. Situated at 900 metres above sea level, the apartment boasts fantastic views from both the bedroom and the extremely large balcony, across the meadow to the mountains and lake Millstatt. The lake has many activities and a beach area in summer with a high diving board, volley ball courts and bars. Lakeside restaurants serve local fresh cuisine, even a lake pontoon dinner experience is available. The nearest airport is Klagenfurt. Venice is a 3 hour drive away.

Lake Millstatt is situated in the Central Eastern Alps, near the town of Spittal an der Drau. With a surface area of 13.3 km² it is the second largest fresh water lake of Carinthia. Near by Dobriach and Millstatt have superb beaches, restaurants, bars and activities with many pursuits on the lake. The mountains in the North are up up to 2,100 metre's high and protect it from cold winds, so the water temperature at the surface can reach 30 °C in summer. Skiing is minutes away, situated in the central area of four major ski resorts including Mallnitz & Nassfeld. The nearest is goldeck in Spittal an de drau at 7km. Bad kleinkercheim is 15 km away and has excellent snow in winter and superb summer facilities, a spa town with many activities to choose all year round. A bus stop near the apartment takes you into town, where a coach trip to Venice is available from Millstatt. For the horse riders a full time stables and riding school is 20 yards from the apartment.

Small for the price !!!

We stayed here Sept 08 and although small for the price and set on a hill which is not suitable for people with walking dificulties it is ok if not a bit expensive.However our advice would be to get your booking contract in writing before you book flight,s and car hire ect thus avioding any disapointment.
You will find Millstatt and the surrounding area very pleasant.

My wife and I stayed here in July 2009 for four nights. Perched 900m up a mountain, the apartment affords fabulous views across Millstattersee - 300m below. The apartment has a wonderful terrace for lazy breakfasts - and is perfect for a couple - spotlessly clean and with a well equipped kitchen. The sofa bed in the lounge doubles up as a sofa bed too. Although there are no shops or restaurants in the local town (Sapple), this does not matter. Millstatt itself is a short 5-10 min drive away... one of the most spectacular drives in Carinthia.

I would recommend,this apartment for it's,low price good value,clean,well maintained,convenience for the Austrian,German,and Italian alps.Set in very picturesque countryside,very close to the lake Millstatter see.During my stay I encountered no problems,and found the caretakers most friendly and helpfull.All in all,a vaule for money stay,in a very beautiful part of Austria,and have happily recommended it to my family and friends.

Summer walking holiday at Sappl

A lovely week staying in a small village high up in the mountains overlooking Lake Millstatt. The view from the large balcony, where we had some meals, was stunning. The apartment is 1970s style, but fully functional with adequate cooking facilities and tv/DVD player, plus a selection of DVDs. There are a couple of bicycles available, but no pump as the tyres were flat, which was a shame. You do need a car to get around, but there are excellent walks locally and cable cars/ mountain railways close by to visit. Buy a Karnten Card for your trips - it is good value at 36 Euros for a couple of weeks. Overall the apartment represents excellent value at a beautiful location.

I have just returned from a fantastic weeks holiday from this apartment.The property was absolutely spotless with a good supply of bedding towels and cooking equipment.The building itself was full of charm and very well maintained.I hired a car and went on some fantastic day trips and walks even went to Venice for two nights which was amazing.
I would highly recommend booking this place and the lady owner was a pleasure to deal with, I am off there for the ski season next!!
