For those who don't wish to venture too far, the famous Bella Vita Restaurant is just a minute's stroll from the front door of the villa! Ideal for families with older children, (over 5yrs) or perhaps parties of friends holidaying together, Casa Octavius is well equipped on all levels. Tennis and Crazy Golf are also available on site, while more serious golfers are impressively catered for with a number of top-class courses easily accessed within a 20 minute drive.

Casa Octavius is uner 5km from the picturesque village of Carvoiero which boasts stunning cliff-top views and a picture postcard beach in the centre of the village. The busy town of Portimao is just a 20 minute drive, while a little further to the west, sophisticated Lagos with is marina and shopping is waiting to be explored. For the adventurous, Slide & Splash is nearby, while ZooMarine in Guia is a must for young and old alike. Serious retail therapy is also to be found in Guia at Algarve Shopping, the largest mall in the Algarve. A trip up towards the hills will quickly reveal traditional villages such as Silves for those who want a flavour of the areas Moorish past. With numerous courses to choose from, including the championship course at Penina, golfers are spoiled for choice. Just want to relax? Stroll to Smugglers Cove or venture a little further to beautiful Benagil beach, or perhaps find a little cove all of your own - it all yours for the choosing!

This property more than lived up to its description. I spent 4 fabulous days with some friends. Its location has everything-reasonable drive on very good roads to Faro airport, a short walk to the sea, amenities within minutes by car or a nice walk, and proximity to a lovely small but fully serviced town. The restaurants are plentiful as are the bars and offer plenty of variey to suit all. All the amenities in the house that could possibly be needed are there and more besides. My one mistake was not booking for longer which will be rectified on my next stay in Octavius.
