Photos and Description of this Alghero holiday villa Just 4km from Alghero town centre within an olive grove.

Bran new villa, within a hundred year old olive grove, just 3km from the outskirts of Alghero town and a 5min drive from the historical centre. The villa has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and there are extra single beds and 2 sofabeds, so it can comfortably sleep up to 9 people. On the top floor there is a lounge which leads out to the veranda and garden. There is a double bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. Below there is another double bedroom and bathroom with another lounge and kitchen. Outside there is a large veranda area equipped with table and chairs as from May to October this is where you will spend most of the time.

Situated in a very peaceful location in the countryside within a hundred year old olive grove, just 3km from the outskirts of Alghero town and a 5min drive from the historical centre. The nearest beaches are the Lido in Alghero town which is reachable within 5 or 6mins by car or La Speranza on the South side of town which is about 10mins away. The nearest shops are only about 5mins away

This was exactly as it says, in a peaceful olive grove but close enough to drive easily into the town.There were 7 of us, 5 adults and 2 children and although that meant that one of the adults had to sleep on the sofabed in the downstairs lounge, she had no complaints about the comfyness and we still had the lounge/diner upstairs to use on the one day it was too chilly to eat breakfast outside. Every other meal and at every other opportunity we ate on the terrace outside anyway so there was no issue with not enough space to sit. Everything was perfectly clean and ready for us and the owner is lovely. He does pop around almost daily to see to the grounds but this isn't a problem as he will stay away from the actual villa unless you badger him with questions which we did quite a lot - he was friendly and keen to help with everything we asked - he even found some buckets to lay out along one of the walls to stop our 5 year old climbing on it in case she fell off!
The beaches to the north - Bombarde and Lazzaretto - we found particularly beautiful with white sands and clear water ( and very empty ) but we went in May and apparently they can get very crowded in the high season. Also it is well worth a trip down the coast to Bosa along a stunning cliff-side road - but it might be worth a little wait until you are comfortable driving on the right-hand side of the road!
I would definitely recommend this property with the smallest of provisos - a couple of notes on how to use the washing machine would have been useful (we were probably suffering from holiday brain but couldn't work it). Anyway, we had a lovely time and the owner couldn't have been more helpful. Thanks

Quiet area with nice surroundings

We were two families living in the villas two appartments, having a nice time in the surroundings of Alghero. You have to have a car to live in the villa, and that also will get you to the nice beaches in the region. The owner and his wife did visit the villa and the garden around, but this was only nice for us, who was informed about the olives, tomatoes, figs and other good the garden provided both us and the owner.

What a fantastic location, and property! Very tranquil and private. Mountain views. Ideal if you want the country retreat at the end of the day.

We were two families with five teenage girls between us. We all had a great time, and loved the house.

There was loads of room, and is a beautiful place, well kitted out.

Layout was two self contained appartments, which gave both families their own private space, bathrooms, kitchens and there was a washing machine. Plus satelite TV, if you want it.

Entertainment is in Alghero, as there is only the TV at the house for entetainment, (unless you take your own). So you need a car, as there is nothing within walking distance. But saying that it is still close enough to the town to be convienient. Local bakers and supermarket are approx 2-3 km, just as you get to the town.

There are loads of great restaurants, bars, and entertainment in Alghero. Shops are open in the old town till about 12pm. So a passagiata with an ice cream after dinner is highly recommended, also you get some lovely boats in the port...

Beaches are a 10-15min drive away max. If you take the time go towards Fertillia (North of Alghero out past Lido) you will find them fairly quiet...Although there are beaches south as well...It is worth noting there are some further out which provide great snorkelling. And there is diving, and boat hire as well in alghero.

If you want the mountains simply turn right out of the property and you will be there in about 5min. A great place to explore in the car, or cycle /walk if you fancy a change to the beach. Again, there is nothing within walking distance...

We will be going back to this property again, one of the best we've stayed at.
