Recently renovated this original old village stone house is located in the quiet village of Malona. The property consists of a large, comfortable, well equipped bedroom, plus fitted kitchen and shower room on the ground floor. Accessed by an external stair way, there is a bright and airy living room upstairs. Thick, stone walls and tiles floors keep the house cool, although air conditioning has been fitted for added comfort. The Mediterranean style terrace outside the living area and surrounded by luscious vines makes a perfect dining area with views across the village and surrounding countryside. A shaded courtyard downstairs provides a welcome retreat from the heat of the day.

The village of Malona is situated on the east coast of Rhodes where many beautiful beaches can be found. As an active traditional agricultural village it is surrounded by orange, manderin and olive groves. With footpaths leading from the village into the surrounding forests and hills the village is ideally located for those interested in walking and experiencing the beautiful surroundings. There are a number of eateries to be found in Malona and the neighbouring village of Masari. Within the village are several small mini-markets, a chemist and a butchers. The local post office runs from one of the cafes in the square and fresh fruit and fish are sold from vans visiting daily. Just 5 minutes drive lies the beautiful beach of Agathi, a sheltered beach with aqua blue waters and the port of Haraki which boasts a number of cafeterias, bars and tavernas.

Additional information about rental rates

  • These prices are for a minimum of 1 week. Shorter breaks are available. Please contact us for prices.
    Change over days are usually Wednesday and Saturday, coinciding with flights from the UK, however this is flexible and other days of the week are possible depending on the time of year and availability. Reservations can be held for up to 3 days to allow for the booking of flights. A 20% deposit is required to secure a booking with the balance payable 8 weeks before arrival. If booking within 8 weeks of travel the full amount is payable on confirmation of booking.
  • The property can be occupied from 3 pm on the day of arrival, with all guests vacating by 11am on the day of departure. This is necessary to allow for cleaning of the property before the next guests arrive, however this may be flexible with prior arrangements. Car hire and taxis can be booked from the airport. taxi to the property will cost approximately 40 Euros. Directions to the property can be provided upon full payment.
  • All prices include air conditioning and use of electricity. A security bond of 200 Euros is payable with final payment - this will be held by us and returned to you immediately after your holiday providing no damage has occurred. Payments can be made by cheque, bank transfer or debit/credit card (using pay pal). All debit/credit card payments paid through pay pal will incur an administration charge of 4%. Full acknowledgment of payment will be mailed to you

Malona is the perfect station for exploring whole rhodes by car and also a very authentic and quite place far from mass-tourism. The property itself is great and offers everything you need for a self-organised holiday. The owners provided perfect customer service; the communication via e-mail was fast and very friendly. We would recommend this property to friends.

An ideal property for a fantastic holiday!

We found Rhodes to be one of the most interesting places we’ve visited, and our visit was made even better by those little extras provided by Jo and Ian – a fridge of goodies on arrival, the place-numbered map book which was so very much better than our own and also the unexpected towel and bed linen change mid-week.

We found the directions to the property very useful, especially as we arrived in the dark. The property itself was immaculate. The huge bedroom had more than enough storage space and led on to a bright, modern kitchen. Although we ate all our evening meals in the lower eating area (table and chairs provided) so that we could chat through the open window, there was also an external seating area on the upper floor. The lounge upstairs was a cool, modern room with dvd player and very comfortable for viewing.

Although we didn’t use local restaurants, we found the local supermarkets excellent for providing all that we needed for picnics and evening meals and the people serving were friendly, welcoming and helpful.

The location was good – easy access to Rhodes in particular, but also to all other areas. The feeling of living in a genuine Greek village amongst Greek people was so much nicer than the mass apartments on the coast! (We were even brought a plateful of food from the birthday party over the road!) The local beach was beautiful - quiet, sandy, overlooked by a picturesque ruined castle and literally a couple of minutes’ away.

We would certainly recommend this property to a friend – and indeed to anyone thinking of renting the property.

We had a fantastic holiday. The property is confortable and provided everything we needed to make our holiday relaxing and enjoyable. The village of Malona is wanderfully quiet and the locals really friendly. The owners provided excellent information about the area, directions to the property and were fast and polite in our dealings prior to leaving. We will definately be back.

Thanks for a great week in your comfortable house . I will never forget the sundowners by the borgonvilla and vines after a day on the beach and what a friendly village - we will be back!!
