Aultsigh - Pole Cottages

We have just come back from a fantastic break in the Highlands, the views are breath taking. We stayed at Aultsigh; the cottage is divine with a log fire and traditional furniture, which was just what we wanted.
The cottage boasts a well equipped kitchen, 2 really good sized bedrooms with plenty of storage space, and the most amazing sitting room. We made good use of the TV and DVD player most evenings. Close to the cottage is a good hotel with a bar and restaurant, which is around a 5min car ride away. There is a local store, around a 10 min drive away, which is very convenient, the staff our very helpful and good for giving you tips for sight seeing and places for walks. Fort Augusts is about a 20 min drive away, it's a lovely little village where you can take a boat trip on Loch Ness. There is a lovely, friendly restaurant/bar called the Bothy, we had a very nice meal there, the staff are very welcoming. All in all, we had the most wonderful time at Aultsigh and can't wait to return next year, the cottage really enbodied the true spirit of Scotland. The Doyle family, Liverpool. 28th October 2009.
