At the foot of Mt Sainte Victoire, made famous by the artist Paul Cezanne, discover Provence in 17th century surroundings. Built in 1624 Le Clocher is part of a Hameau (hamlet) formerly attached to Château L'Arc. Find Tranquility in an area surrounded by the 18 hole Sainte Victoire golf course. Forests, vineyards and olive groves offer superb walks and mountain biking trails. Guests at Le Clocher have access to a 12x7 m swimming pool, an ideal way to end the day. Explore the beautiful surrounding villages of Peynier, Fuveau and Rousset. Aix en Provence is not to be missed. Make a day trip to Marseille, Cassis, Avignon or explore the Luberon and Côte d'Azur. Spend the day wine tasting or shopping at local markets. The charm of this ancient presbytère is preserved in this two-bedroom gite. 85 square meters on two levels offer spacious relaxed living with superb mountain and Château views.

Le Clocher is ideally situated between mountains and sea. Visit the authentic Mediterranean fishing ports along the coast or explore the picturesque Calanques (fjords) situated between Marseilles and Cassis, home to the highest maritime cliffs in Europe. The Mediterranean islands such as Frioul and Porquerolles are within easy reach. Less than 1h15 by car lie les Baux de Provence and the Gorges du Verdon. Avignon, Tarascon and St Remy de Provence are about 40 minutes away. Aix en Provence, 20 minutes away, has numerous musical and theatrical events throughout the year. During the month of July the International Opera festival takes place featuring celebrity opera and classical music. During this time there are also numerous jazz, big band, rock, classical ballet and contemporary dance events. Fuveau, 4km away, is a charming ‘village perché’ in which typical Provençal traditions are preserved. In September Fuveau hosts the popular writers in Provence festival.

Le Clocher is immaculate and has excellent facilities. The owners could not have been more welcoming or helpful.It is a lovely quiet place to stay but Aix was easily accessible and we also found lovely restaurants in nearby villages.

We spent a fantastic 2 weeks in August/September 2008 in Le Clocher. The house definitely lived up to billing. It is very well presented and the notable luxuries were a Nespresso coffee machine and broadband internet. The house is very sympathetically restored from the original building, and the whole design and space is excellent. All very clean and modern, we didn't want for anything. The garden is not done justice by the photos - it is a lovely, sunny space and we ate every meal there.
The owners are very hospitable and we really appreciated their thoughtfulness, for example they provided 2 boxes of toys for our 2 year old son to play with.
The area is really interesting, close to loads of attractions, the choice of city, countryside, beach provide a huge variety. The surrounding villages are really peaceful, but also very lived-in, there is a quiet energy there.
The Hameau is a very peaceful, restful place. We also enjoyed the pool, great to dive into after a hot day.
Highly recommended, we have booked already for the same 2 weeks next year.

Anne and Anthony was verry - verry friendly and perfect when we were there for 8 days. All was clean and good.
1. class restaurant. We hope to come there another time to enjoy det place and god service.
