Spacious and comfortable!

A great experience from beginning to end! A clear description how to reach the house (sent by the owner before we left) made it easy for us to find it. The owner was very nice and showed us everything when we arrived. The house had just been thoroughly cleaned. It proved extremely comfortable: there was a dishwasher, a washing machine, a well-equipped kitchen with started packages of oil, sugar and coffee we could use, various games, TV and DVD player, radio, and there was toilet paper there when we arrived. The hot water boiler broke during our stay, and the owner came immediately to fix it. The house really is spacious and has a nice front and back yard. The only thing one could miss in that house is a view of the sea - however, the sun sets over the mountains, not the sea, so there are no romantic sunsets over the sea anyway in San José.
Since the town is built in a bay, the town beach is not very long - no good for jogging along the beach, for example. However, it is kept clean and tidy. An hour's walk towards the South from the town beach there is Genoveses beach, which has an entire large bay to itself (no settlement). Something I liked about San José was that even in mid-October there were many Spanish weekend visitors who brought some life into town and swam in the sea. Most restaurants and bars were still open, although a few had closed at the end of September. There is an information centre of the Nature Park that sells books and maps and has very helpful staff. Right beside it, a bakery that sells delicious baguettes. People are very friendly and relaxed, including drivers. Speaking of which, I think we were right to rent a car, as this enabled us to visit the different beaches in the Nature Park - although Genoveses and Monsul near San José remained our favourites. Landscape and nature in the park are absolutely beautiful. There are many hiking trails that are well signed out and taken care of - we met a team of workers in action on the trail up to Cortijo de la Rellana. Up there, we also watched an eagle and many beautiful butterflies...
To make a long story short, I would certainly recommend this property and San José to anyone, including my friends!
