Lovely cottage

Review Submitted: May 19, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
This is a lovely cottage catering easily for 9 people with an excellent kitchen / dining area where everyone can gather and chat. Hayfield village has everything you need and when it comes to pubs even more. A thoroughly recommended property and location.
Owner's Response: Thank you for your positive feedback and we are glad you enjoyed your weekend.
Increasingly we are finding people choosing a UK holiday and Hayfield within the glorious Peak District National Park makes for an ideal short break destination.
We have found so far that family/friends/reunion groups and even study parties all love our fresh open plan facilities at Peak Retreat coupled with the friendly hospitality of Hayfield country village.

Peak Retreat review

Review Submitted: August 26, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
We had a fabulous time at Peak Retreat. As it says in its name - it really was a reteat! We all live pretty hectic lives and needed a well earned weekend of relaxing, walking and indulging. Peak Retreat provided just that.

We were a group of 4 adults and spent a long weekend at the house which was top class accommodation. Every little thing had been thought of and supplied.

The first night we ate at the local pub just a short walk away, where the food was very good. The village has numerous pubs and eating places so no need to cook at all if you don't want to.

On day two we went on a medium length walk after cooking a "full english breakfast" - (we had taken our own supplies, but there are plenty of good supermarkets nearby).

In the evening we cooked a wholesome meal and drank plenty. The kitchen and dining area is very well equipped and a sociable place to entertain and relax.

As you can imagine the walking in the area is fantastic with a full range of short, medium and longer, more strenuous, walks to do - on the doorstep.

If you have never been to the Peak District before we can highly recommend it. The scenery is fantastic, and Peak Retreat is comfortable, warm and spotless.

The accommodation is spacious and light and the views beautiful. For us it was deffinately "home from home"

Brian and Louise were very friendly and could n't do enough
to make us feel welcome. Being local people there is n't anything they don't know about the area.

We loved it so much we plan to return next month, if its available.

Family holiday

Hillwalker Dundee
Review Submitted: August 19, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
Our extended family (3 generations, with toddlers and teenagers) had a great week at Peak Retreat in July. The accommodation is excellent - spacious and well appointed, with comfy beds. It's location means that you can walk straight out onto the peaks and leave the car behind; but if you want to go further afield, all the main attractions are within a 40 minute drive (max - that includes Alton Towers, essential for teenagers). The village has a couple of good restaurants and well stocked village store. It's peaceful, with panoramic views but not too remote either. And the owner is very helpful - lots of useful info about the house and area.

Great Holiday Home In Beautiful Derbyshire.

Bluey Warwickshire
Review Submitted: August 19, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
Peak retreat was a great choice for our family holiday.
We are a family of 8 adults and the house fitted us all in comfortably!! Peak retreat is very well equipped , we especially loved the kitchen and big table that could seat us all.
The views from the back and front of the house were stunning. The house is on a hill and it proved challenging walking back up it the first day, but it was great excercise, and by the end of the week it was quite easy!!
The house is very well placed for visiting places of interest.Lots of lovely places to visit.
The village itself has a couple of stores ,these were a bit expensive but there is a Morrisons not far away. The fish and chip shop in the village is very good.
We had a great holiday in a lovely home from home.
