Our apartment enjoys a twin bedroom with 2 double doors to the spacious balcony, fitted wardrobe and air conditioning unit. Saint Nicolas is located just inside the border of Chlorakas and Paphos, just off the main road leading straight to Coral Bay from the old Paphos Town. We walked to old Paphos Town past some original workshops and bars with local tradesman working, this took 20 mins with our children but is an easy flat stroll. Of course, once there you have access to many taxi's, bus routes and excursions providing travel all over the island. In the old town you should not miss the indoor market, homegrown fruit and vegetable market and sitting at the tavernas which have views over Kato Paphos and Harbour out to sea and the sunset. If you take the opposite direction out of our apartment along the road to Coral Bay, you will go through Chlorakas which is very much a local village, carry on to Coral Bay to where all the tourist attractions are including a sandy beach with different watersports on offer, sunbeds and parasols, tavernas and everything you need to spend a fun day at the beach.

Notes to the rental rates

  • The above rates are for a minimum of 7 nights, additional nights will be negotiable and we have left the changeover day flexible because we understand flights are virtually everyday. We can arrange for a transfer for you with a local taxi company who know exactly where to go, I will need to let you know the cost, if you so wish.
    On your request I will send to you a booking form and contract and you will need to sign and return this along with a 20% booking deposit, then 6 weeks prior to your arrival you will need to pay the remainder of the rental fee plus £100 breakages/damages security which will be returned to you after your departure and once we have received confirmation that there are no breakages or damages.
  • Our parents have the studio apartment next door which is ideal for the extra couple being near. Please do get in touch and I can direct you to there advertisement, contact details and rental fees. Again, thier apartment is equipped superbly and the studio is a set spaciously and very comfortable for 2 adults.
  • We welcome long term lets and rental rates are negotiable if rented a month or more, for the right person and time this would be approximately £100 incl, per week.

  • The bathroom is located just outside the twin bedroom. There is a vanity unit under the sink to put your cosmetics neatly away and the shower is extremely powerful as the whole of the apartment is fitted with a water pump.

  • We are a family of four and so carefully considered the sleeping arrangements to accommodate our 2 children. We decided that as we would like to spend the evenings either on the balcony watching the sun going down or treating ourselves to a late romantic supper we put the children in the twin bedroom which meant we had access to the kitchen and lounge with DVD player and the sofa bed is excellent, it certainly is NOT some cheap sofa bed, within the metal sprung device lies a double mattress which provides a really comfortable and excellent nights sleep. The twin bedroom has a big floor to ceiling wardrobe including 2 sets of drawers and also there is plenty of wardrobe space just outside for anyone sleeping on the sofa-bed, plenty of space for us 4. Both the bedroom and the lounge area are serviced with individual air conditioning units keeping the night cool and both rooms have double doors leading to the balcony which is the whole length of the apartment.

Notes:

Children are welcome because we have them ourselves, but please be warned the upholstered furniture was brand new April 2008 and is light coloured and caused us a bit of stress because we would like it kept nice. However, watching them in the pool which is just outside was very relaxing on the sunbeds and provides hours of entertainment. Of course, we have a DVD player as well and you can become a member at the DVD rental shop around the corner for €20 which is refunded to you upon cancellation and rentals are around €1 for the day, so again great for keeping the children out of the sun for an hour or so in the day. We also had nights in all lay on our sofa bed watching a film munching popcorn - great!. Likewise this is a great place for the elderly or infirm as there is a lift giving access to our first floor apartment with no problem. There is only one step at the security entrance but other than that it is all level, even walking within the local area is easy.

Local Shops and Restaurants

As you can imagine, going to Paphos Harbour and Kato Paphos tourist shops and restaurants are not cheap and if you are a family of four like us you need to know where to go for a least expensive way to shop or eat, so here are some notes: We are on the outskirts of Chlorakas which means we are just outside the expensive tourist shops, in our local walking area there is a number of beautiful bakeries for fresh bread and cakes (we would wake up, get some croissants and juice then go and sit on the harbour wall with the local fishermen watching the world go by). The best restaurant we went to (called Relax) is literally down the road 10 min walk, we had a meze for €12 adult/€6 child and they fed you until you told them to stop! Brilliant with a large village wine - very cheap, we noticed that we only ever saw Cypriots dining there. Try to do big shop at one of the supermarkets rather than popping to the Kiosk, the best we found was Papantoniou's and is 2 min drive in Chlorakas village

Must Sees

Without a doubt you cannot come away from Paphos without seeing the Roman mosaics at Paphos harbour and the Tomb of the Kings, they are really kept well and is well worth a visit. Again the Troodos Mountains are an inviting fresh air to the hot sun but drive carefully and take a jumper with you, it can get cold. Coral Bay provides all the watersports entertainment you will need and take a trip to the beach at Polis and stop to eat at Latsi harbour which is romantic. If you are a culture vulture you can drive to many sites, amphitheatres, ruins, monasteries, churches, there is loads to see. If you have the children Paphos provides a waterpark, mini golf, go karting and many other activities to keep everyone entertained. We even went on a small 2 day cruise from Paphos to see the Pyramids in Egypt which is absolutely amazing.

Car Rental

Renting a car is recommended but if you prefer to use the local car rental companies which are on the main Tomb of the Kings road, or the main road into Kato Paphos then we can give you those.

Other Activities Shopping and Eating Out

Golf Information:

Saint Nicolas is close to Tsada Golf Club, an 18 hole golf course built on the grounds of a 12th century monastery, with fantastic views of Troodos Mountains. Also near is Secret Valley Golf Club & the championship course at Aphrodite Hills. Mr Phillips a keen golfer and played just 9 holes at Tsada comments 'A well kept, tight golf course with beautiful breathtaking views, would suit a low or high handicapped golfer with challenging holes - no handicap certificate was asked for. There is a lovely bar/restaurant for post game refreshments'.
