Of course you're on the beach, but if you're looking for sand dunes and a blue flag - the 7 mile blue flag beach of Pembrey is just 10-15 minutes away. Pembrey Park also offers childrens parks, mini train, dry ski slope and horse riding.
For surf- head to the Gower beaches of Langland and Caswell Bay, Rhossili and Llangennith (surfing capital of the Gower - take lessons with The Welsh Surfing Federation School based here). The bays range from 35-50 mins away. Don't forget Oxwich & Three Cliffs Bay -google map uk for distances & directions
Take a trip to Swansea Bay with its Waterfront Museam and new leisure centre next door - with wave machine and huge water slides. On a dry day go a little further along to Mumbles, enjoy a lovely meal on the seafront or amble around the shops

Llanelli town too has all the high street names along with an array of restaurants (approx 15 min walk).
If you want to leave the car & take the train for a day trip, Llanelli station offers a great service along the southern wales coast whether its just to Swansea or through to Pembrokeshire.
