In Tachbrook Street SW1V 2ND - Google it! - 2 mins walk Pimlico Tube and 7 mins walk Victoria Mainline Station , this gorgeous period house is suitable for short lets, holiday rentals, business accommodation and family gatherings. Built in 1846, with architectural features beautifully preserved, the 5 bedrooms, 3 sitting rooms with (Sky TV - all sports channels), 2 kitchens, study (with ADSL and wireless broadband) and 4 bath/shower/WCs are spread over four floors, together with balcony, terrace, patio garden and private access to a nearby garden square . There are 4 x single beds, 3 Queen sized beds& a fold-out sofa bed in one of the sitting rooms . The study has windows on all sides; the house is very light; and there are marvellously ornate ceilings in all the main rooms. The accommodation is also remarkably well equipped, with washing machines and microwaves, DVDs and dishwashers, hair-dryers, radios and sound systems, linen and towels, great showers, comfortable beds

  • The nightly rate quoted is for bookings longer than 3 nights. For shorter bookings the fees are:

    1 night (from 4.00 pm on first day to 10.00 am on second day): add 50%
    2 nights (from 4.00 pm on first day to 10.00 am on third day): add 30%
    3 nights (from 4.00 pm on first day to 10.00 am on fourth day): add 17%


    To reserve dates, full non-refundable payment due if within six weeks of arrival date: 50% on booking, then 50% six weeks before arrival. Payment via UK Cheque, electronic bank transfer or PayPal.

    Returnable security deposit of £250 taken on booking.
  • Beds, except for sofa beds, made up. A second set of linen provided every fortnight, for longer lets.

    House immaculately cleaned at beginning of let. To be left by tenants in good order.

    House sleeps 9 in actual beds. 2 more can be accommodated on sofa beds
  • Additional fees charged for unusually heavy post-rental cleans and of course any losses or breakages.

    Maid service can be provided at holiday-makers' own cost @ £12.50 per hour.

  • The bathrooms and cloakroom are small but all except one of the shower rooms has outside windows. They are newly tiled and maintained, with high quality fittings The showers are powerful and there is plenty of hot water. The top floor bathroom has roof lights as well as a window, so you can lie back at look at the stars!

  • The beautifully decorated bedrooms are quietly situated, mostly at the back of the house, and have loads of hanging and other storage space. The one bedroom that is at the front of the house is on the top floor and has double glazing, even though the street outside is neither noisy nor busy. The bedroom floors are all well carpeted, the beds are very comfortable, with mattress and pillow protectors as well as lovely linen and bedspreads. Pillows, duvets etc/ are of high quality. There are bedside lamps and dimmer switches - and two of the bedrooms contain their own TVs and dirigibles. Two of the bedrooms are ensuite - and one of these is situated on the lower ground floor with a sitting room off it, a kitchenette and a walk-in shower: wonderful for an older couple who can manage just one flight of stairs. A cot, bedguards for small children, baby-listeners, high chair etc. provided

Notes: There are in fact two kitchens - one is a well fitted kitchenette on the lower ground floor; the other the main house kitchen on the ground floor. The dining room on the ground floor, which leads off the kitchen, seats 8 comfortably. Another 6 can be seated round the dining table on the lower ground floor - and that table .can be carried upstairs and put 'on the end' of the main dining table, to seat up to 12. The study is light and airy, and children love to play in it - and on all the wonderful stairs, and in the nooks and crannies of this fascinating house. We had the most wonderful week in London and I can't tell you how much we loved your home! It was just perfect for us. I can imagine how lovely it was for you to live there and raise your children there. My children wanted to move in! My son made himself a happy little nest in the Murphy bed which he thought was the coolest thing he had ever seen. My daughter made herself quite at home in her own little flat on the second level. She felt very important and grown-up! And my sister-in-law was delighted to have her privacy downstairs in the apartment. The house was very well stocked; we had everything we needed. And we really did take advantage of the markets and the restaurants all around us. It was absolutely the experience we were hoping for and we were just delighted by 8 days of beautiful sunshine. Thank you again for your many kindnesses and help in arranging our lovely stay.

We rented this lovely home in April 2009. The location was wonderful, allowing you to escape the bustling city, but still be within a short walk of Victoria Station or short bus/tube ride to all the major sites in London proper. Plenty of space in this house for 1-2 families. We had 5 adults and 1 child and still had plenty of space. Did we mention the shower? Well at least one of them had the best water pressure we've ever experienced - anywhere! Plenty of places nearby for food stocks, from a full size supermarket to smaller ones and specialty stores. The owners of the home are wonderful and were immensely helpful througout the entire process. We cant say enough good things about our experience with this property. Space, quiet location, transportation, internet access and Sky TV - it was all good. It was well maintained and clean. The only negative, if it applies to your situation, was there are a number of stairs to the sleeping areas. So if you have people with disabilities or trouble climbing stairs, it could pose a bit of a problem. As my mother said, it was 39 steps to her room on the top floor. It was 39 to our room as well, so don't think we put her in the attic. But homes like this in London go up (and down to a lovely self-contained apartment-type setup) where we shelved my (him) in-laws. Overall, this property comes highly recommended by us and we will definitely return in the future.
