If you are planning to visit Languedoc why not stay at 'Les Amandiers', a beautiful rustic farmhouse near Bedarieux. The accommodation sleeps 8 - the main house, with 3 spacious terraces, has 2 bedrooms plus mezzanine and sleeps 6. The separate charming Annex, with its own bathroom and patio, sleeps 2. The house and private pool (10 x 6 metres) are in full sun all day and there is ample shade under the many trees with 4000 sq metres of gardens including 7 different fruit trees. The house benefits from TV, DVD, I-Pod player, 3 adult and 1 child's bike. It is 5 mins drive from a well equipped town where you will find restaurants, bars, supermarkets, post office, pharmacies, bakeries, fishmonger and weekly market. Bedarieux is located on the edge of the stunning Languedoc National Park, 50 mins to the Mediterranean beaches i.e. Portiragnes and Serignan, Sete (The Venice of Languedoc) approx 1 hour and close to the historic towns of Beziers (35 mins) and Pezenas (30 mins).

Bedarieux is a small town in the heart of Languedoc built on the banks of the river Orb. 'Les Amandiers' is close to the picturesque Languedoc National Park and the nearby town of Lamalou-Les-Bains (spa town) has a golf course. The historic towns of Beziers, Pezenas and Montpellier are close by. Other activities within easy reach include fishing, canoeing/kayaking in nearby Moulin de Tarassac and swimming in the gorges at Mons La Trivalle. There are many chateaus to visit and endless opportunities for wine tasting with the Languedoc region being the largest wine producing area in France. The vineyards stretch as far as the eye can see. We are in the middle of 7 airports, Beziers (Ryanair from Bristol and Stansted) being the closest at approx 40 mins. Montpellier is 1 hr 15 mins away, Carcassonne 1 hr 25 mins, Nimes 1 hr 40 mins, Perpignan I hr 50 mins, Rodez 2 hrs and Toulouse 2 hrs 20 mins (all approx). The Spanish border and Pyrenees are approx 2 hours away.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Rental periods are Saturday to Saturday, arrival from 16.00 hours and departure by 10.00 hours to allow for cleaning. A non-refundable deposit of 20% is required at time of booking. The balance will be due 8 weeks before the holiday date together with a security deposit of €200 and €50 for end of rental cleaning. If a booking is made within 8 weeks of the holiday date the full price plus security deposit and cleaning cost are required at the time of booking. Deductions will be made in the event of losses, damage to the property or furnishings or the need for additional cleaning. The security deposit will be returned within 2 weeks of departure.
  • Prices include electricity, water, linen and towels (not beach towels) and use of the bikes.

Had a fantastic time at the house there was plenty of room inside and out. Plenty of eating areas outside as well as loads of space for the kids to run around. Ideal spot for beautiful mountains, rivers and lakes with just an hour to an hour and a half's drive to some lovely beaches. The lady who owns the house us very helpful as is the gentleman who looks after the house when the owners not there. Would go back .

I found the place to be the best relaxing place I have ever been. The views are fantastic and the location is super.
The location is well maintained and the garden , well kept, maintain an aspect of wilderness the I enjoied very much. Is a beautiful farm-house in the middle of a beautiful countryside. Plenty of information available about the surrounding area left by the owner. Beautiful view from the swimming pool area and plenty of space to tann and relax, as well as shelter and shade to have lunch and dinners. The quite and silence are beautiful and you can hardly hear a noice.
The town is ten minutes away with good reastaurants and pizzeria and bars and the locals are very friendly.
