Located just outside of the picture-postcard fishing village of Cabanas in the eastern Portuguese Algarve. The eastern part of the Algarve remains an unspoilt part of Portugal and Cabanas is a true example of this. This beachfront village continues to retain all the old style charm of a typical Portuguese fishing village, while incorporating all the modern requirements of today's holiday maker. Splendid unspoiled beaches, and traditional restaurants, only a 20 minute drive from the Spanish border. Cabanas is only a few minutes drive from the traditional Portuguese town of Tavira which is steeped in history and known locally as the Town of Churches. The town rests either side of the river with shops, cafes, bars and restaurants along the beautifully cobbled streets. Average annual temperatures in this part of the Algarve range from 16° - 31° Celsius.

Cabanas and Tavira Area: Cabanas is located on the Eastern Algarve it is a small fishing village which has remain unspoilt by tourism, the main palm tree lined road along the bay has a number of lovely bars and restaurants that serve traditional Portuguese fare at very reasonable prices. It is from the end of this bay where you can catch the water taxi that takes you to the local beaches. There is a quaint Railway Station at Conceicao where you can catch a train which travels the length of the Algarve from Vila Real De Santo Antonio to Albufeira. From the station at Vila Real, you can walk to the River Guadiana and catch the ferry which runs every 20 minutes across to the picturesque Spanish town of Ayamonte. Only a few minutes by car from Cabanas is Tavira town which is very much a traditional working Portuguese town, full of narrow cobbled streets which come alive at night, with little bars and restaurants and shops.

Beaches and Golf: The beaches are a major attraction in the Eastern Algarve and along this section of the coast there are some fantastic ones from Praia de Monta Gordo which stretches for 10km, to the beach at the IIha de Tavira, most of the beaches offer facilities to buy food and drink or just enjoy a long lazy lunch. If sunbathing is not for you there are 12 championship golf courses within 45 minutes drive, including the recently opened Monte Rei Course which is only 15 mins from the apartment and was designed by Jack Nicolas. Within 5 mins of the apartment there are three courses Benamor/Quita da Cima and Quita da Ria.If you are looking to play use a local booking agent and you will make some savings on the green fees.

Just back from staying in this beautiful apartment. It was perfect, as advertised. Large and spacious, nicely furnished and spotless. Facilities great, 2 young kids aged 9 and 6 spent most of their time in the pool. Lovely balcony and roof terrace added extra space. Having some English language channels on the tv and a dvd player really helped with the kids. Steve gave us detailed directions to the apartment, from the airport, which were spot on. He also gave us recommendations for restaurants and things to do. It would be necessary to have a car, as it is located slightly outside Cabanas and is a 10 minute drive to Tavira. The beach in Cabanas is beautiful and we enjoyed 2 great days at water parks, which were only a 30/40 minute drive away. A really great holiday. We would highly recommend this apartment and location. Ideal for families.

If you are looking for a relaxing get away from it all holiday then this will be an ideal destination. The apartment is modern, well equiped and very clean. Cabanas itself is a small uncomercialised town with a handful of good restaurants with very reasonable prices. You have to catch the boat over to the beach but it is well worth this small trip. Tavira is well worth a visit day or night time. A small walk to the castle and old water tower for a tour of Tavira with a difference would be recommended. We went with our 16 year old teenage daughter who also thourghly enjoyed the holiday. Overall an excellent holiday.

A very relaxing and enjoyable stay. Apartment was of a very high standard and very clean with all the amenities required to make our stay comfortable. Fantastic / spacious roof top terrace - however we thought the kitchen was a bit on the small side. The apartment lift was really useful. We would definitely stay here again. Thankyou.
