Nearby, visitors can also enjoy the award winning Praia Del Rey golf resort and the recently opened Bom Sucesso Golf and Tennis resort, both under ten minutes away. The villa itself is finished to an outstanding specification, with spacious rooms, terracing, balconies and furnished to ensure a rewarding, relaxing and unforgettable time for all. The living area is equipped with leather sofas, TV, DVD + MP3 dock and comfortable dining. There is a built-in brick BBQ, patio and fenced garden area with its own private pool. Outside Bom Sucesso, and moving away from the lagoon area, there are many places of interest and activities for all the family. A 15 minute drive takes you to the beautiful medieval walled town of Óbidos. Its a good place to start, where narrow cobbled streets have bars & restaurants, shops selling local crafts & wines, beautiful churches and pretty white houses with terracotta roofs. The town hosts numerous events during the year, including classic and popular music concerts, and the Annual Medieval Fare. Recommended is a walk around the ramparts with spectacular views ! After a further 5 minutes you arrive at the lively spa town of Caldas da Rainha. Here you will find a mixture of shops for shoes & clothes, traditional coffee houses and restaurants, also the daily open air fruit & veg markets. Going slightly further afield explore the beaches of Baleal, the fishing port of Peniche and historic Abbey at Batalha. The impressive Sintra & city of Lisbon are just 50 mins drive too.

We had a wonderfull long weekend where we used the house as base for our visits in Lisboa. It was very relaxing to come back to the house in the evenings, and to evaluate the experience from the day.
Owner's Response: Lisbon is our favourite of all cities - and only 50 minutes from Obidos, with easy access via the A8. It's nice to hear that our villa made for a relaxing time too.

We're back in your fantastic house. We liked it and we thank you all the attention you've had with us. It is a pleasure to find so much information and so detailed. The area where the house invites you to relax and quiet, lakeside walks are delicious, the beaches are long and lonely.

Excellent holiday

Max and Viv have made an excellent choice of villa in terms of location and quality, and also made a great job in furnishing it . . . we made particularly good use of the pool and the barbeque. We, two families of four, stayed for two weeks in August 2009 and had no problem occupying four adults and four under ten year olds.
The weather was not as hot as we’d expected and was better for that . . . mid to high twenties was ideal for us and the early morning mist of some days gave us something to talk about . . . it wouldn’t seem right not to have some weather to discuss!
The lagoon is an excellent facility that doesn’t need the car; we walked, paddled, collected shells, swam, cycled, bird watched and fished in and around it. Only the fishing was unsuccessful but still enjoyable. The far (east) end was particularly good for bird watching, if you like that sort of thing; Great Spotted Cuckoo, Black Winged Kite and Flamingo amongst others.
Slightly further a field the Atlantic beaches are great, Bom Sucesso Golf Course is good and good value and Obidos is a must for history and food or food and history if you’d prefer.
In short we’ll be going back sometime.

We stayed at the House over the xmas period and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The house is fantastic and very well equipped. Glorious position and loads of places close by to visit. We will certainly be staying again in the summer weeks and to take advantage of the lovely swimming pool. All credit to the owners for making such a perfect holiday home for there guests to enjoy.
