This beautifully furnished cottage provides stylish, spacious and comfortable family accommodation in the beautiful Duddon Valley,with an old post office & stores close by. It's an easy drive to the Lake District's favourite attractions (this is the home of Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter) and to vast sandy beaches. The lovely little town of Broughton-in Furness is just 10 minutes away with two fabulous food shops offering local produce, and old inns nearby offer excellent food. There's loads for the family to see & do - golf, climbing, canoeing, pony treks, bike hire, country houses, castles, Roman ruins. You're in the heart of the mountains here with wonderful, gentle walks from the door. Relax in the oak-beamed sitting room and enjoy roaring log fires, comfy sofas & piles of books and games, or chill out and watch Sky TV and DVDs. The stunning kitchen -breakfast room has glass doors that open onto the patio and walled garden, where you can sit and listen to the rushing stream nearby.

In the heart of the Lake District National Park, Oakbank nestles in the beautiful Duddon Valley surrounded by the high fells (mountains). This is the Lake District without the crowds - just rushing rivers, sheep and stunning scenery. Favourites like Beatrix Potter's Hilltop Farm, Dove Cottage at Grasmere and lively Ambleside are just 40 minutes drive, as are Windermere and Coniston Lakes for memorable boat trips. Oakbank is also just 30 minutes from beautiful vast, sandy beaches at St Bees and Silecroft. There is golf, bike hire, riding, canoeing and the tiny Eskdale stream train nearby, and Muncaster Castle with its owl sanctuary and gardens. Wastwater, England's deepest lake under England's highest mountain is just a short drive away and is breathtaking. Nearby Broughton-in-Furness is a historic market town with excellent amenities. The old Post Office & Stores is within walking distance.of the cottage & the area has several old inns serving excellent food.
