5 Km from Colares, a demarcated wine-growing region, famous for its excellent wine, which can be tasted in “Adega Regional de Colares”. Robert Southey, English poet describes Sintra as 'the most bless, spot on the whole inhabitable globe'.

Lisbon, the capital is only 40 Km far from Quinta do Mar where you can find great historical value monuments, theatres, cinemas, Parque das Nacoes (theme park) where had been held the Expo 98, shopping areas, zoo and typical restaurants where you can take the excellent traditional Portuguese cooking while listening the famous Fado, for instance in Bairro Alto.
