A gorgeous natural park, for example, on the Ionic coast ,from where, after a twenty minutes walk through the maritime pine-wood, you will discover a tiny beach in front of a blue-sky sea: it is a paradise! Little villages of fishermen,where you can taste delicious fresh fish and from the hill, at night, you can admire the charming lighted gulf of Gallipoli that seems like a nativity scene. Leuca, the extreme part of the Salento Peninsula, is very easy to reach through the picturesque seaside road. From there, at sunrise, you can watch the suggestive scenery of the pink Albanian mountains. Otranto, on the Adriatic coast, is the historic town of martyrs. They can be visited in the cathedral, where there is also an antique precious mosaic floor representing the tree of life.

An original baroque taste you can't miss is the“frisella”,well worth a mention for its typical unmistakable taste of authenticity…it is a small wheel of bread made of wheat or barley flour, which, after the first baking in a wood-burning oven, has to be split by a piece of string and then it has to be baked again. A traditional way of baking is necessary for an antique taste that daily comes again to make your mouth water when, very soon in the morning, you go to a traditional bakery for your everyday “filone di pane”, a typical pugliese baguette… and here you are.. smell of bread drifts in the air and it makes you want to have tastes of a fragrant crispy frisella, well seasoned with a hill of cherry juicy tomatoes on its irregular fringed surface, a fall of extravergin olive oil – precious treasure for the Puglia territory – a rain of origan, salt and lastly a handful of wild “rucola”..mmm.. the genuine frisella from Salento is simply yummy at any time of the day!
