'Bonnet' is in the heart of Quercy in Lot. It is in a tiny hamlet reached by country lanes bordered by ancient stonewalls. 'Bonnet' has been renovated to a high standard, it has a large well maintained garden with plenty of room for games, private 10 m x 5 m swimming pool . Off the dining room is a large balcony - imagine yourself with something nice to drink enjoying the sunshine and wonderful views . Accommodation:- 6 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (1 bath 2 showers), lounge with satellite TV, dining room, well equipped kitchen with two fridges, freezer, dishwasher and microwave. Playroom with gym equipment in annexe. Barbecue, ample garden furniture, 2 bikes for that ride to the bakery. Less than 3km from village with all shops including wonderful baker, supermarket and restaurants. About 1/2 hour from Dordogne River, close to Rocamadour, Sarlat, Gourdon and Cahors wine region. Easy access to A20. 1 1/2 hours Rodez or Bergerac Airports. 2 hours Tolouse airport.

Nearest Airport: Tolouse at 150 Kilometres
Nearest Ferry: Calais at 830 Kilometres
Nearest Train: Gourdon at 24 Kilometres
Nearest Motorway: A20 Junction 56 at 2 Kilometres
The local village has all the shops you could need with excellent baker and butcher. There are several restaurants and a pizzeria. There is a large market on alternate Mondays, Within 1/2 hour drive is the Dordogne River with many place to kayak and canoe and enjoy picnics along its banks. There are wonderful castles both sides of the river which saw action in the Hundred Years War. Glorious villages and towns with 'must sees' of Sarlat, Domme, Rocamadour all within 1 hour drive. Close by are prehistoric sites of Les Eyzies and Grottes de Cougnac with stalactites, stalagmites and cave paintings. A wildlife park at nearby Gramat and barbary ape colony near Rocamadour. Good golf course at Saint Cere apprx. 40 km. Fantastic local markets and during the summer wonderful fetes. Mediaeval Gourdon is the nearest large town at 15 kilometres, built on hills with panoramic views and excellent restaurants. Trying the distinctive local wine is a must.

LOCATION: Although Toulouse is the nearest large airport at 150 kilometres we use either Rodez or Bergerac which are much nearer (approximately 60 kms). They are both served by direct Ryanair flights as well as AirFrance from Paris.

LOCATION: The first time that we saw shooting stars was when we sat on the balcony (with a glass of the local wine) on a warm July evening. It was really magical. Another of our 'firsts' was hearing a nightingale in a bush near the swimming pool, another truly memorable thing. The bird life is very varied with plenty of red kites. There is a large hawk who always seems to be on the same fence post when we got to the baker's in the mornings. It is great fun staying still in the swimming pool in the late afternoon while the swallows swoop and drink.

Rustic charm combined with modern ameneties

We found this to be an ideal location for the extended family to get together and enjoy a splendid week in this charming converted farmhouse with ample maintained grounds and delightful pool.

Whilst most of the rooms were well sized we found the kitchen a little small but was sufficient as we either ate out at the excellent local restaurants in Gourdon or used the BBQ.

A feature that we liked was the first floor terrace which was a great place to enjoy a morning coffee and admire the scenery.
