In the Village and around.:
Palalda has a popular sports bar which serves food and drink and has panoramic views across the river Tech. There is also a bakery, mini-supermarket and post office, all 2 minutes walk from the accommodation.
There are several picnic areas in and around the village, one was originally a site for washing clothes.
Every Sunday there is a market in the square and this square is often used for festive occasions to which all are invited.
The streets of Palalda are safe for children and animals due to its narrow walkways and inaccessibility for cars. There is a large car park close to the apartment, 30 seconds walk away.
Walk down to the footbridge and over the river to access the large Leader supermarket (10 mins) where you will also find a Chemist, Newsagent, Cafe, Beauty Parlour and more.
Amelie Les Bains:
Amelie Les Bains has a Casino and many restaurants and bars. If you want some relaxing therapy, the Thermes in Amelie offers a selection of treatments. The local tourist office has many coach excursions in and around the region with brochures and information on all sorts of activities. For adults and children over 5 there is a Forest Adventure Trail close to the local swimming complex, only for the brave hearted.
Lakes and Beach:
In St-Jean-Pla-De-Corts (9km) there are two beautiful lakes, one for fishing and one for swimming, boating, water acrobatics and forest adventure trails. You can walk or cycle beside the river for miles here, on special marked trails. There is also a lakeside cafe.
Approx. 20km towards Perpigan in Villeneuve-de-la-Raho are another two lakes, one is for fishing and boating and the other has a sandy beach, clear refreshing water (shallow at the edge), trees for shade, an aqua waterpark, pedal boats and two beach-side cafes.
There are many beaches to choose from, all within 40 minutes drive. From Argeles sur Mur to Canet Plage there are beaches to suit all taste including naturists.
