Lily Cottage, Lavender Cottage, The Stables and La Forge complete with modern fully fitted kitchens ideal for families or couples, bed linen provided. Cot and high chair available. If you are looking for a romantic break or a fun-filled family holiday these cottages are ideal for summer holidays but also very tempting all year round. Facilities include heated swimming pool, 9 hole mini golf, table tennis, badminton, football nets as well as a games room with air hockey and pool table. You'll never be bored. All gites have satellite TV/DVD, as well as your own private patios complete with BBQs. Enjoy a relaxing summer holiday with lots of things to keep the children amused whilst you relax around the heated swimming pool. Beautiful countryside with the Bordeaux wine fields and Cognac close by. All gites have 2 stars awarded by the Tourist Board

Dining room and fully fitted kitchen with microwave and dishwasher / breakfast room. Sat TV?DVD Own private patio area with gas BBQ and patio furniture. Facilities on site include 3 acres of grounds, heated swimming pool, games room, childrens play area.

Magic Holiday in the Charente

We rented all four Gites for our family Holiday in Jul/Aug.08. Our party consisted of Granparents in 'La Forge' and our three children's families in the 3 other gites. A total of 15 people altogether. Gites de Brettes really fits the bill for 4 families holidaying together. Close enough if you want company but also allowing you your own privacy. We found the gites as described, clean and equipped to a good standard. The pool was fantastic with the long summer nights enabling us to bar-be-cue together long into the night,

The amenities on site ensured that we were fully occupied whilst staying on site with the surrounding area offering plenty of opportunities for sightseeing. We went canoeing on the Charente. Oradour Sur Glane (Martyr Village) is well worth a visit for all age ranges.

Plenty of local markets and pretty towns and villages along the River.

Resturants tend to close Sunday and Monday but are generally good.

Enjoy a relaxing stay at Gites De Brettes and we recommend it as a holiday location especially for extended families using all 4 gites. Have a good holiday !
Owner's Response: We enjoyed having this family here, they rented all four gites and had communal meals each evening outside on the lawn, it was lovely to watch them. The children had lots to do with the golf, games room, swimming pool etc which gave the parents chance to relax, chill out and enjoy the holiday too knowing that the children were safe and secure and enjoying themselves. We would love them to visit us again as it was a joy to have them here.

Gites de Brettes

We were very impressed with the site and Lynne and David could not do enough to make us feel welcome. It really is a lovely place to visit being far enough away from everything, but if the weather is not on top form there are bits to do within a reasonable drive. Overall well worth a visit if you just want to get away from it. The drive down can be long but even going through the tunnel and living in Northampton still achieveable on a 3/4 tank of diesel travelling at the speed limits. Best to get the ferry to caen it makes it a shorter drive.
Owner's Response: We are a really relaxing site to visit and when Paula and Julia visited unfortunately the weather was very rainy but they seemed to enjoy the gites which are lovely and spacious and still found lots to do to enjoy their holiday. The drive from Caen is about 4/5 hours and it is an easy drive, not much traffic and lots of beautiful scenery.
