Plum Tree Cottage is a period stone cottage, offering superb quality holiday accommodation for up to six people in the south of the Isle of Wight. The cottage is situated in a secluded rural lane, within an area of outstanding natural beauty, yet only walking distance from the picturesque village of Godshill. The cottage itself features an open plan living area with a wood burning stove. The cottage is centrally heated. Upstairs, there are 3 bedrooms, All bedrooms offer views over the surrounding countryside. Outside, is a large enclosed garden with a south facing patio and parking area. Mature hedges bound the garden, which also features fruit trees and a large lawned area. Plum Tree Cottage offers fantastic downland walks right from the door, and is a short drive from great beaches, places to visit and attractions.

Plum Tree Cottage is situated in a quiet lane, about 1km south of the famous village of Godshill. The village has 2 pubs and a village shop along with a variety of tea rooms, gift shops and restaurants, it also features the well know model village. Also within walking distance is Appledurcombe House and its falconry centre. There are numerous great beaches within a short drive, ranging from Shanklin and Ventnor with their many facilities to some wonderful unspoilt coves and longer stretches of sand around the south of the island. Some of these are quite empty even at the height of the season. Plum Tree Cottage is in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty and there are fantastic scenic walks right from the door. For the more adventurous walker, there are also several long distance footpaths nearby as well as the Isle of Wight coastal path. Overall, the Island boasts more attractions than can possibly be listed; from zoos and theme parks to nature reserves to forests.

A Fantastic Week

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this marvelous cottage. We had mostly great weather and really enjoyed the big garden (our dog especially). We ate outside most days or in one of the lovely local pubs. The cottage is clean, comfortable, and has everything you need to enjoy your stay. We even had a basket of fresh produce waiting on our arrival. We tried out several nearby beaches, at Shanklin, and some other hidden ones not far away where there's hardly anyone around. If you like a bit of countryside this is for you because you can walk up onto the downs right outside the cottage. From the top you can see the whole island. We even tried paragliding nearby. (scary) and dad enjoyed a couple of rounds of golf. We had a fantastic time and can't wait to come back.
