In the Carpatian mountains-where Poles go to surround themselves with nature- a man from aristocratic family has opened his manor house to summer tourists. He is a descendant of Prince Michael Oginski, a composer of polonaises as well as the Polish National Anthem. Ladzin, surrounded by idyllic traditional farms, is situated in the rolling wooded hills of South-East Poland. The Manor House is very unusual in that it was never confiscated by the communists and so has remained in the family. Several years ago it was inherited by Antoni Edmund Bojanowski. The atmosphere is that of a pre-war Polish house party: Bosendorfer piano is still in place and Chopin even sounds different in Ladzin! English and French is spoken and most the guests come from England and France.
